Wisdom teeth are weird or the doctors vary wildly in technique and ability.
It also makes a huge difference if they are impacted or not. If they've grown in, it's no more painful than having any other tooth pulled. If they're still impacted, it's actual surgery, with much blood, and leaves you with with four large, gaping holes in your gums.

Mine were all four, impacted. Hence the swelling. I also had to have a follow-up surgery because I developed an infection. Pretty nasty.

Then I watched movies for the next week or so til I was ready to go back to society.
I was still in high school, and I come from a family that is very, very serious about school. I wasn't permitted to miss school unless absolutely necessary.

After my follow-up surgery, my mom asked if I should go back to school, and the nurse said, "Sure! She just won't be able to talk."

I must have looked completely miserable, because instead my mother bought me a milkshake and took me home. It still stands out in my memory as one of the sweetest, most unexpected gestures of my teen years.

In January, a department at my work lost a car. It was a company-owned vehicle, and I had to work for weeks on insurance claims, police reports, gas cards, and investigation to try and figure out if it was stolen, and how, and why.

Well, they just found it. At the mechanic's. Where it looked like someone dropped it off and forgot about it.

I am... just... so pissed off. It's going to take me who-knows-how-long to unwind this ridiculous error. I feel very much like kicking someone in the shins.

I need to call the insurance company, and I'm staring at the phone, realizing exactly how much of an idiot I'm going to sound.

I was really lucky in that I only had one wisdom tooth, so it was a relatively quick and painless proceedure. I didn't even have to use the really serious, hard hitting painkillers afterwards either.

Scar that old school car is sweet.

Hmm... Lease is up in two months. Now the thought has come to me of possibly buying a house. I can afford it... But do I do it?

With that, I went to change my water schedule in the backyard. Some spider-webs in the control area. I wiped them off without a problem, did the entire schedule, only to see a big motherfucking rock-like spider on the inside of the cover... AGH.

I had noticed a couple of meal moths in my upstairs bathroom, which is weird, because they normally like to do death and destruction in kitchens. I really don't want meal moths, so I killed them. I was wondering if they came in through the bathroom window, which is old, so I opened it up, and FREAKING WASPS.

They built a huge nest just outside the window, like an inch away from the pane. I screamed like a girl.

I have moth traps and wasp spray I picked up today, but I'm actually pretty nervous about the wasps. I'm afraid they'll fly inside when I spray them.

Side note: since I discovered the wasps' nest, I pull up the sash and watch them compulsively, since they're so close to the glass. I'm disturbed and fascinated.

My friend and his kid are over, and she's got this stuffed dog that sings songs.

It started singing, "This little doggy went to market, this little doggy stayed home..."

I guess the toy manufacturer forgot what 'went to market' means.

Showing how close they are, before deathy-time.

    The window is dirty. Sorry.

You may be able to afford the down-payment and mortgage, but what about the time and upkeep?

Yes, that is frustrating. However, with all that, I've found home ownership very rewarding. I'm glad that my first house doesn't have a yard to keep up, because that has helped me ease into all the maintenance and obligations. Hope to have one in my next place, though, so I can have a vegetable and herb garden.

    And possibly chickens.

And prices are low, now. It's not a good time to think about buying as an investment, because the market hasn't rebounded enough, but if you research your area you should find somewhere you'd at least get your money back... which is more than you can say for apartment living.

I want to live in a house, and any house I rent, I basically have to do the upkeep anyway as the owners are nary to be seen, and it's usually something I can do anyways.

    No chickens in this house.

We'll see what I can come up with. Just thinking stages right now.

I found that my free time on the weekends and after work is worth more than anything owning a house might be able to give.

House owning - not for me.

I've lived in a house now for over 2 years and I haven't spent more then an hour total in time and upkeep more than I did living in an apartment. I guess it depends if you're buying a 30 year old house or something. Mine was built in 2007.

And I should clarify I like in a housing community so my HOA handles the front yard work.

My house is 90 years old. But the upkeep, while important, isn't crippling.

I sprayed the nest for, like, one second before slamming the window shut, and the wasps actually began bodily flinging themselves against the window-- thump thump thump-- screaming, "KILL THE INFIDEL!" as they died.

    It was a little unnerving.

Lol, I'm so far from being ready to get a house, it's not even funny.

The flat I live in is on a list of especially earthquake-damage prone buildings in my city. I'm going to die.

I prefer an apartment to a house. Just too damn big, and too much work.

Meh. I love my condo but I love houses too. In a perfect life I would livin the a burb 10 minutes from the city. Big yard, dog, ride on lawnmower, two or three car garage... white picket fence.

In 2016 I plan on buying a house and renting my Condo.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Because of the housing market my mortgage is less then the cost of my last apartment. I've also had terrible neighbors at almost every apartment I've lived in. These last two years living in a house have been heaven in comparison.

Mine is too. Mine is so low a guy at work is paying more a month for his car payment.
