I remember playing the demo of the first one and not being a fan at the time. I'll probably pick it up for cheap.

Yeh you could probably pick it up for $15 or less on Amazon.

This nex-gen transition period, is the first time in my gaming life, where I am content and patient enough waiting for nex-gen titles because my backlog of last gen is so incredibly high and at the same time the games in my backlog are worth playing. I keep forgetting to post a list but it's enough to keep me occupied for 2 full years. And that's just on PS3.

Also, for those on steam and PS4, Warframe is probably one of the best free to play games I've ever played. It may not be saying much with the slew of awesome free to play titles right now, (Path of Exile would be included in that) but it's a damn fun multiplayer game. Fast paced, has a little bit of Japanese art style (think MGRising revengeance) has a fantastic class and upgrade tree and worth playing.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Bioshock 2 is the best of the series, also contains the best DLC.

    Bioshock 1 is good.

Infinite squanders a great premise in favor of a half-baked sci-fi device that would be an embarrassment to even the most mediocre of SF stories, while completely ignoring the political and social elements they spent so much time presenting before the game's release, elements that end up having absolutely nothing to do with the narrative. On top of this, the gameplay is repetitive and your character spends too much time eating hot dogs out of garbage cans.

I'd argue that the gameplay is repetitive in all 3 games. And no way Bioshock 2 is the best with the introduction of the Big Sister. Ugh, terrible. It was a poor excuse to move on from the lovable Big Daddy. Unoriginal and almost identical.

I didn't realize there was a person in the world that preferred Bioshock 2 to the original.

I wouldn't say I preferred it but it's a great game in it's own right.

The DLC - Minerva's Den - is the best thing in the entire franchise. Also, B2 added the dual wielding which opened up the gameplay a lot, making it more fun and strategic for me to play, while still maintaining the same sense of place and atmosphere as the original. So it has all the narrative elements, plus better gameplay. The only thing it's missing is that first impression the Bioshock made, but I'm of the opinion that better gameplay wins over that.

I'm going to tackle "Dishonored" again in the near future - I am just not great with stealth games.

Even in games like the RockSteady "Batman" duo or "Assassin's Creed", 9 times out of 10 I end up completely abandoning any attempts at sneaking and just tackle enemies head-on.

Dishonored doesn't require stealthy. There are actually more gameplay options for straight combat. The magic abilities become ridiculously op (but also a lot of fun) when upgraded.
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

I have the first one on my computer, but to have it on my PS3 and be able to play it on my TV would be amazing.

"Outlast" coming to PS4 in February (and free, to boot!) is really exciting.

I love a good horror game so this is definitely setting off a big BLIP on my gaming radar

And it will be perfect timing, too, because I am getting very close to finishing up with "AC IV". I'm currently at about 67% completion (that's total completion, not just story - I'm on the second-to-last chapter).

An odd compliment maybe, but I find the foliage in this game really impressive. Trees, plants and bushes have often looked very unrealistic next to other areas of games, even in the best looking ones. Particularly if the plant life can be interacted with in any way with the player, it tends to look very flat and polygonal.

The way the wind and rain affect the plants in "AC IV" is impressive, as is the way individual leaves and branches move out of your way and around you as you push through them.

Not sure if you ever watched the leaked demo of the source engine, but check it out. Ravenholm was even better than what was given in the final product. It starts at 8:00.

yes, totally remember seeing that. Plus, Ravenholm is just a plain cool name. Sigh, this is what we have to make do now until that fat slob Newell gets off his ass and announces the third one.
