What's it like to live in the Land of Fuck You? I imagine it's not entirely different from New York City, but, still, I'd like some clarification.

After having to divert off of not one, but two major highways to get home, I ended up on a side road just as a giant snapping turtle decided to cross the road. Yeah, I stopped traffic and helped that beast get across the road. I hope Gamera took note.

If you're grilling with charcoal (and if you're not, why are you doing that!?) make sure you have shoes on. Ouch.

Step on some lit remnants from the charcoal chimney or have some fall on your feet? I think I've done both.

Waiting for WiFi to get installed, but I have found a place in Newport Beach.

Walking around in weather that is always 65-80 is like some kind of dream. I only wear pants for work. I don't use AC...

But until my stuff gets moved, I'm sleeping on an air mattress, and steaming my clothes at work,. The job is pretty cool too as it puts me all over Southern Cal. I meet up with someone at Cerritos, so I don't have to do too much driving in LA, and San Diego I've been able to beat before it gets lousy... At least so far.

There's a ton of Indie film theaters around me, and I paddleboarded for the first time as well as putting on a wetsuit.

I think I can used to this.

Biggest difference I've noticed in California. People drive fast, and I always think I'm going to witness a motorcycle fatality. Also, not quite sure why every single red light has to have an indication on the street about 20 feet beforehand. Seems like a waste of money.

I don't think there's one pothole in Irvine.

Also some of the lowest crime in the entire country.

    It's very... clean.

I worked in Irvine for years. One of its weirdest idiosyncrasies is that it often has streets that don't have "street" or "road" or "boulevard" in the name. Coupled with occasionally weird street names, you'd end up with some odd addresses.

God I failed to realize the genius of this post until a few hours after number8 made it. Now I'm finally appreciating its awesome qualities. Bravo.

Scar's post about the turtle reminds me of the one time I was driving and a bunch of geese decided to randomly cross the road as I was going over the bridge that connects my side of town to the other part. I stopped and took a picture with my crappy camera phone-it was something else. There I've bored you all enough for now.

Is anyone else following this story? A Saudi Princess living in Irvine kept four people as slaves?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

One thing I've noticed as I get older: it takes less to really wipe me out.

I had to get up at 4 a.m. to take my roommate to the airport. Once I got home, I went back to sleep and slept until 11 a.m. (missing church; never even stirred) and now I'm still exhausted, as well as headachey and hungry, but am too tired and cranky to go downstairs and make myself food.

One early morning and my day is more or less shot. Remember youth? When sleep didn't matter?
