Hey, wow! That looks like a video game!

I'm definitely interested in the Wii U. Keeping my eyes open for more stuff like that.

One thing I absolutely do not care about is all of this multi-media bullshit. I don't care if ESPN or whatever are on my game console. It makes absolutely no sense to me. It's probably just because I have very, very little use for television of any kind. But I also don't care about movies or music on my game console. I already have a PC and a TV that plays shows and music. And I really don't care about Facebook, Twitter and Youtube on my consoles.

I wish we could have a console that has video games as the sole focus.

MS spend a ton of time in their press conference on non-gaming things. Total bummer.

Is this kind of thing something that is very popular with the younger generations? It could be that I'm just completely disconnected from needing a device to do everything.

Yep! Basically the most exciting thing I've seen out of this conference. Say one thing about Platinum (and Kamiya especially), they make fucking video games.

Speaking of Platinum, I tried out the Japanese demo for Anarchy Reigns. Game could be really great. The demo actualy lets you play online, and the deathmatch stuff seems like the game's meat.

ZombiU looks pretty neat. It's got a really interesting survival thing where your character dies, and you have to go kill the zombie your last character became, and I like the menu stuff being done without pausing on the screen you hold. It could be cool.

How much of this game will end up being escort missions? I'm wary.
I wouldn't worry. I read an article on Game Informer where they addressed this exact concern. They developed her AI to be an NPC that assist you rather than one you have to protect.

Watch the video again. It actually demonstrates this. In combat situations, she'll hide and get out of the way. And better yet, when you're in a jam, she'll help you get out of it. Like the bit where you're out of ammo and she'll distract an enemy.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Wow. Halo 4 looks incredible. You can definitely tell that Bungie was working with some highly outdated tech. It looks more like a Metroid Prime game.

Yeah, that footage blew my mind. Just the improvement on Master Choef alone is impressive.

    Can't wait to play.

I dunno, I guess I get where you're coming from, but you guessed right, it's a very out of touch view on technology. Think of it this way... It's akin to someone 20 years ago saying they wish personal computers don't have these graphic cards and Internet connections nonsense and just do word processing and calculating like they're supposed to.

This fall from EA Games: Hilo starring Master Chaoef.

A brand new adventure the likes of which you've never seen before!

Yeah - I guess I just don't care as much about having access to all forms of entertainment on one device. I actually kind of like having separate things for different things, that way I'm more focused on the thing I'm doing, rather than jumping around from one thing to another. I don't need my TV to post a message on Facebook for me when I'm watching something, and I don't need my games to remind me of what so-and-so is doing on Twitter.

It's one the reasons why I won't be getting a new smart phone after my 3Gs becomes totally obsolete. I don't want to be tethered to social media and entertainment 24 hours a day every where that I go.

I can definitely feel the generation gap widening, and part of it is a conscious effort on my part to reject it.

Part of it, too, is that I'm very cynical of one company wanting to control how I access all of my entertainment and information.

All about Last of Us. May be boring to watch, but pretty sure I'll absolutely love playing it.

Is there footage of Beyond anywhere?

My main thrill about The Last of Us is that, unlike the Uncharted games, you can't just run around and empty your clip in an area. I want the bullet drops to be very rare and mostly you are using your survival instincts to maneuver around enemies.

I hope that The Last of Us doesn't have big spectacle set-pieces. I would love if it kept its minimalist style and only fight 3-4 bad guys at a time through out the entire game.
    Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

I am all for systems having more functionality. Every time they announce ESPN or MLB or Hulu or Netflix, I am one step closer to canceling my cable subscription forever.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Yeah, I can see that. I already haven't had cable for years. Just the $1 limited cable that gives me Discovery channel and On Demand. I would cancel that, but having it actually makes my internet $10 cheaper a month.

I had heard that fights were going to be super rare in the game, and so I was very disappointed when they showed a cover-based, gun fight for the demo.

    Yes you can.

Although it makes less sense to stream on Xbox over PS3 since you need to buy GOLD to stream it. Extra $59.99 a year.

Yep. I didn't think I would use ESPN but I watch all my NBA games on the ESPN app if their on that or use my HD antenna for games on ABC. Unfortunately I'm still screwed with TNT games. If they had a TNT app I would be in heaven.

Playing Assassin's Creed for the first time. At first I didn't like it, then I went to Damascus and the game felt like it was coming together and I liked it, but now I've finished two assassinations and it's already pretty old. I thought maybe the middle and rich districts of each city would have different types of investigations, but apparently all you "do" in this game is pickpocket, interrogate and eavesdrop, all of which involve you just walking up to people and pressing a few buttons. Running and climbing is fun though.

Something I didn't pick up on earlier, but the music that starts at the two minute mark is great! Simple, but unnervingly thrilling.

Just remember, you don't need to finish the first one to thoroughly enjoy the second one.

For me it's been amazing. Since I don't own my own house I can't have a lot of the conveniences I would like to have, so when the xbox gave me netflix instant, it was awesome because it's harder to work on my macbook then on the xbox. ESPN3 has been amazing as well since I'm a big poker watcher and they do live streams of the World Series of Poker every year. They also do live streams of the XGames and have had many games that I would not even be able to get on any satellite or cable package that I could get if I had a cable hook up in my room. Because I don't have the money to upgrade my computers to better able to run these things, it's nice that a console like the 360 is still in such popular demand that I can get a lot of these things other people can get by just buying stuff. I don't think it's a generational thing, I like when more options like this come out because I don't have the other options you're talking about. If one device can do everything then I don't need to buy/continually upgrade 5 devices. That's awesome.

Facebook and twitter is something that's just going to join with everything. It's not something I'll use but it's the kind of thing that I would expect regardless.
