Before she was pregnant he was pretty iffy on her too. He was complaining to me about how she's constantly living outside her means. A couple months after he met her she had to move in because she got cut down to ten hours a week and couldn't afford her apartment and her $500 a month car payment. A couple months later she got fired and now he pays for everything.

I just kind of feel bad for my mom. I'm 33 and me and my wife don't want kids and my brother is 27 and this is going to be her first grandkid and she's been wanting one FOREVER. If this shit continues once the baby is born it's gonna get ugly.

Ugh, I'm so sorry about that EWO. For you and your family.

And to be fair my brother is just as much to blame. He's been inconsiderate his whole life to other people. My mom made a bunch of meals for them so they wouldn't have to cook when they got home from the hospital. He told her he would be over the next morning to pick them up. He called her in the afternoon and said they were going to the movies and he would be over in a few hours. And nine pm he texted her and said he wasn't gonna make it over. My mom had stayed home all day expecting them to come over. And let me reiterate my brother lives 10 minutes away from my mom. Only calling or visiting when he needs something. I've seen him twice in the last six months and we also live ten minutes apart.

Considering you see absolutely nothing wrong with her lying about not being able to get pregnant and in other ways appearing to be very manipulative, I'm not sure your opinion should carry much weight.
I wasn't attributing it as a lie. I was of the opinion that it was plain stupidity.

Geez, that's way more forgiving than I could ever be.

She has demonstrated an irrational and outright mean penchant for control and manipulation, and seems to be actively trying to isolate him from his own family.

That's not something that's just going to go away in a person. I wouldn't be sticking around. Then again, if the person was like that, I wouldn't have lasted that long in the relationship in the first place.
So screw the child, then? You could leave your own child that easily? Unless I am misunderstanding what you mean by "stick around."

Having a child doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your own happiness for the next 18 years trying to be with someone who sucks.

Sorry EWO, but sounds like your brother is as much of a dick as his g/f is a psycho hosebeast. The only people I really have sympathy for in this situation are your Mom and their child. I do wish you all the best.

I explained this just a few posts above.

I would support and raise the child as best I could in the situation, but my relationship with the woman would be over.

It's not necessary to stay in a toxic relationship with someone I hate in order to raise the child. There are other options. Like, trying to get custody of the child since she's psycho.

Yeah, I missed that post. Sorry. Thought I had read them all.

    No worries.

I'm very much of the belief that the child is as much his as it is hers (I say that because I know of many people who don't think that way).

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Mos def. As someone who has used it that was the first place I reminded my brother about when he said he got his girlfriend pregnant.

I used to think I was a pretty smart, cool individual when it comes to relationships. And by that I mean that, within my family, I've always been able to see the clear picture despite how over-the-top my mom, sister or dad can get about certain problems.

But then I got into a relationship with the manipulative bitch I now call my ex-girlfriend and now I wouldn't have the nerve to advice anyone about anything regarding relating to other human beings. I just don't understand it and I don't want to do it ever again.

This guy who used to give me absolute hell and call me "the oyster" (because I was a little cracker) in college texted me about being in the area and wanting to "shoot the shit". Actually what he said was that maybe over coffee he could convince me that Margaret Thatcher was indeed a Nazi.

    I don't get it.

How far away does he live currently? May just be his weird way of wanting to hang out without sounding boring about it.

He's been in Ireland getting his MA. I just don't know if i want to do the whole coffee conversation where we take subtle jabs at each other like 18-year-olds. I think in a lot of ways guys my age (young 20's) still want to date like they're in high school.
