I sold my ambassador program 3DS for about $100 more then I paid for it last week. Nothing against the system I just rarely play portable systems. For some insane reason I've continued to buy every Nintendo portable even though I barely ever play them. I much prefer gaming on my television and using an actual controller.

Jesus. Are you a wizard?
Seriously, I don't know that I could ever achieve this.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
It was very satisfying to achieve. Such a fun gameQuoting megladon8 (view post)
I love Christmas break. I get to catch up on everything. Replaying Bayonetta on hard now.
the latest humble indie bundle is quite good http://www.humblebundle.com/
and donating over $5 bucks you can get Cave Story (my favorite game of the pack) and five games from Bundle #3.
Replaying Red Dead Redemption, and there's the buffalo herd.... I will most likely not wipe out the entire herd this time, since I've already got the Manifest Destiny trophy.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
I picked up Rayman: Origins this morning and I'm really digging it so far. I love a great platformer.
I ended up selling off Skyrim. I just couldn't get into it. I played about five hours and the story did nothing to hook me in the way that the Fallout games did which I ended up playing about 150 hours of between the two. I had a similar problem with Oblivion and gave up at about the 5 hour mark also. Every quest or person I talk to is 10 minutes worth of info dump with no context or reason for me to care about it. In the Fallout series I was sucked in from the get-go also with the Dragon Age series (a more similar fantasy storyline along the lines of Skyrim).

The end of Bayonetta is so damn hard.
Sorry to hear it, EWO. I'm pushing 70 hours and I'm still totally enthralled.
I haven't particularly liked the storytelling in any Bethesda games, to be honest. At least not their enormous open world ones.
It's just the exploration. Which I feel they've hit a homerun with in "Skyrim".
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
That's a really good point with Bethesda's story telling. They've never been fantastic in this aspect and you hit the nail on the head at what they excel at; Exploring their tremendously detailed and vast open worlds. That's what keeps players going. “What’s over this mountain? What’s beyond this bridge? How do I level up to get past this enemy to get to the other side of this canyon”.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

Exactly. Like the entire main quest of "Fallout 3" was the most uninteresting part of the game. And talk about a lame ending.
I think I followed the main story for as long as I needed to open up the map, then abandoned it for a good 85 hours of exploration and side-questing, and only returned to it when I had little left to do or see in the world.

Star Wars: TOR is exactly what I thought it'd be, a pretty fun theme park MMO that borrow heavily from the WoW model and adds a decent amount of Bioware choose-your-own-adventure storytelling.
It's essentially a single player game though, at least while leveling, and I haven't seen a need to group with anyone through the first 15-20 levels. I assume that changes at the endgame with raiding, etc. Doubt I'll play it long enough to get there though.
How is waiting in line?
About 10 minutes to get through a typical 200 person queue. I guess that's my fault since I chose a full server to start on because a friend was already there.
They already said they're not going to add servers so that was inevitable to happen anyway. I'm considering buying it.Quoting shaun (view post)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
Anybody played EverQuest II? I've been jonesing for an MMO and I've been looking for one that allows me to conjure minions that fight for me. EQ2 has a class like that, so I've considered subscribing. Anybody?

My Top 100 Horror Movies OF ALL TIME.
I think most fantasy-based MMOs have pet classes. Original EQ had mage and necromancers. Rift has like 6 different pet specializations.
TOR has slaves/companions that help you in combat but right now my Twi'lek is just added ranged DPS. There's probably a tank one coming though, hopefully soon.
Picked up FFXIII, Viking, Assassins Creed for $18.
I'm playing FFXIII right now... well... I'm picking up where I left off from last year (around chapter 9). Worst FF I've ever played so far. FFXIII-2 comes out in a month.Quoting Skitch (view post)
There's a level at the end of Bayonetta that feels like it was added in as a 2nd thought. You're riding on a rocket and shooting enemies from what feels like a first person view point. This game really drags on towards teh end.
Once you get to Gran Pulse it gets a little better, but I largely agree with you.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
