Are there any known issues with the original 80gb PS3s? I want one that is backwards compatible because I don't have a PS2 anymore, but I still have a ton of games.

And there is a guy selling this for $400

    I think that's a good deal.
All that for $400? That's a crazy good deal.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Sony's PS3 TV is probably what I'm anticipating most. Sure, you have to wear the glasses, but they're saying two people can play one game at the same time without the split-screen.
Forget that noise, you can do that right now with commercial TV sets:

Anything on the new Twisted Metal game from E3?
Saw it being played on G4. Looks fun, but goofy, which is definitely not what made TM: Black great.

One thing that just occurred to me is that the Wii U will be the best console to watch Netflix Instant Watch from.

It can finally support HD streaming, and when you need to go to take a shit, you can just continue watching seamlessly on the controller.

I mean, you can do that now switching between the PS3 and a laptop or whatever, but it's less intuitive to do so, so it's less incentive.
    but isn't the controller wired?

Every video I've seen of it shows it not being wired. People are carrying it away from the tv area.

That's the "don't fucking steal this" wire, a standard feature in all trade show booth peripherals.

As if game controllers aren't nasty enough....

Might want to, at the very least, invest in some alcohol swabs if you plan on taking your controller with you while taking a shit.

I'm still skeptical about the Wii U. The Wii was suppose to get 3rd party games interested because of its wand, accessories, etc., and all I see is WiiFit and Epic Mickey. With a massive controller, it seems to limit the idea even less, because if a game is going to be on all three consoles, having a good scheme on that Wii U controller seems like it'd be difficult.

All three consoles are pretty disappointing to me.

Why is PS3 disappointing to you? A game console with a built in blu-ray? Can't go wrong.

It would be, but I don't like playing a guessing game as to whether or not a game will work for my computer.

If I buy a 360 game, it'll work on my 360, no questions.

Just the stuff from E3 is disappointing. Not the system as a whole.

I mean... just know your comp stats and check the game packaging?

    Heh.

If only it were that simple.

I've played plenty of games where I've met the recommended (not minimum) specs and the game has run like garbage.

Like D said, it's not nearly that simple.

The reason I gave up on PC gaming is because, even though I had a top-of-the-line computer that I had poured nearly $2000 into, I was still buying games that either a) didn't work at all, or b) barely worked.

It's too much of a pain in the ass, especially when 95% of the games I'd want to play on PC are available on 360 / PS3 as well.

I'm not much of a strategy gamer, and I have no interest whatsoever in MMO's, and that's a big chunk of PC gaming right there.
