Old white dude then asked black dude how much to shine shoes because he's going to a funeral. Black dude took that as a racial insult and snapped back. Old white dude didn't understand why the black dude was offended. Fight commenced.

My god, this is insane. Have any of you read the recent Observer article, "Porn Kiddies," where they attempt to provide a concrete link between the personal discovery of pornography to alcoholism, rape, bestiality, and even pedophilia? Ha ha no really, I'm dead serious.
Maybe it's just me, but I find this a little hypocritical coming from the same magazine that houses supplements like "Savage Love," and of which an entire third is dedicated to call-girl ads, near the back.
Not to mention the actual words coming out of her mouth. I kind of wish she'd have Glen Beck's child just so we could see the antichrist in our lifetime.

Over the last six months I have become immune to this vein of commentary. Baltimore has problems, but it's also a fascinating historical city that is slowly rebuilding itself. What, you think they call it Charm City because of the alliteration? Well, they don't because "ch" and "ss" are two different sounds so that doesn't even make sense.

In all reality, though, I am going to install a good alarm system, and the house is only a couple of blocks away from my sister & brother-in-law, and it's in a nice neighborhood, so I feel perfectly safe.

To keep it simple, I just assume every time anybody says anything about Baltimore that they are quoting The Wire. It's a fairly accurate working theory.
