It's not just the look though, Duke.

A blend of RPG and FPS mechanics in an open-world post-apocalyptic setting.

I realize that the gameplay is hugely different, but I imagine a lot of people would judge it without playing and think "well, I already spent 70 hours with this game last year...no need to do the same thing again".

Prince of Persia is one of the most beautiful cel-shaded games i've ever seen, too bad they screwed the gameplay.

I was interested in Dragon Age: Origins, but after beating Demon's Souls i'm afraid i won't touch another medieval RPG for a while. Game is simply too awesome, the kind of game that sets new standards for the genre, or it simply won't be matched for the rest of the generation. It's that good.

Not sure I'll bother with GTA 4 anymore. Kind of regret buying it, find it a bit boring. Folklore too, I don't like having to essentially play through the game twice at the same time.
I enjoyed Folklore and beat it, but my GTA also sits here still waiting for me to get in the mood of trying it more.

So, I'm interested in picking up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Regular version: $20. Ultimate Sith Edition $40, has a few more levels, skins, what not.

I'll skower ebay and amazon to see what prices I can get.

There's a review up for the "Ultimate Sith Edition" on IGN, and if I remember correctly they said it's a case where, if you haven't purchased the game yet and are looking to, it's worth buying this newer edition.

But if you already have the game and have downloaded the Tattooine DLC, it's not worth it just to get the Hoth level.

    Just my two cents

I apologize to folks in the thread for losing my temper earlier.

I always regret it when it happens, and I'm typically embarrassed by it. Usually I deal with it by deleting the message (if I catch it soon enough), or hoping it will just fade into the background.

Anger's hot and wiley, though, and it's just too easy to lose it when I'm posting online. In real life, I'm normally not so ... flippy-outtie. Just ask bac0n. He'll tell you I overreact in completely different ways in real life. :P

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

After our last IM conversation, this is definitely going to be in my hands soon.

I think its time to dust off a few old friends and create them in game.

bac0n...I think its time for the triumphant return of "The Killer Vs."
Totally. XBox Live shall know us by our trail of dead.

I received my 360 racing wheel and, well, I'm debating sending it back.

I really don't like the feel of the wheel's turn - the wheel itself is constructed very well and feels durable, but the actually turn feels sloppy and I feel like I have less control than with my regular controller.

Also, the thing is so freaking huge I don't know where to put it.

You should totally get DJ Hero Meg, and then plan Forza with the turntable.

That would be hot the hell to trot.

Yeah, that would be pretty mint.

I'm just hoping they don't mind the fact that I practically had to tear the inner packaging to shreds to get the racing wheel out to begin with.

I sent back all the original packaging and all the pieces, etc. But yeah, it was packaged so tightly it was ridiculous.

I think the big thing I'm missing with the racing wheel is the proper chair.

It comes equipped with a mount for either an actual chair made for racing video games, or for a table. Since I do not have a table in the room to mount it on, nor do I have (or want) the gaming chair, it just has to sit on my lap. Which is both awkward and uncomfortable.

Oh well, doesn't matter. As I said, the gamepad works just fine.

Finished my first run of Borderlands. The ending and last boss are a little bit disappointing but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Right away I started my second run and the nice thing is that all your stats and items/weapons carry over. Also all the enemies are scaled up to your current level so you still have a challenge! So far I'm enjoying this second run a lot more because you can start with your own weapons from the previous run.

Yeah, but I did some quests in co-op with my cousin. That's the nice thing about it, you can just have friends join in on your game and help out. And the enemies will scale up too, depending on how many people you are playing co-op with. And if you play with more people, you get better loot drops too!

Racing wheel has been sent back.

If only Amazon.ca would freaking re-stock "Borderlands"

It was fantastic, but the ending, after all the jaw-dropping set pieces that came before it, was, ultimately, a comparatively uninspired run & jump sequence. Dissapointing also that after immersing the player in such an amazing quest, a whole subterranean continent can collapse with zero impact on the outside world.

The differences between GTAIV's two endings ... Different people buying the farm in cut-scenes, a different person ending up as the final boss, a slightly different, but equally ridiculous and difficult final fight. Fun stuff.

Call of Duty: MW2 and Assassin's Creed II are coming up next for me. The latter in particular looks like offering an incredible time period and environs for its actions.

As you discover all the marvels of the Italian Renaissance, you can learn more about the places you visit. Say you pass near a beautiful church or a famous palace for example, the game's data base is updated and gives you some information about the nearby monument. Would Assassin's Creed 2 be the first game to reconcile a true gaming experience with the content of an encyclopedia? Well, maybe not entirely but it is as close to it as it can get I guess. It makes wandering around even more interesting and is, to me, a very nice feature.
Sounds very cool. Who says videogames can't be educative?

I'm looking forward to Assassin's Creed II, too. And a nice thing is you can play the game in Italian with English subs. That's cool.

Last night I started Dragon Age: Origins. I made an elf mage. I've only finished the first quest so far and it was fun. I'll dig into it some more after I finish playing Borderlands.

Really? That is outstanding news what with my family on my dad's side being Italian.

yeh i feel Assassin's Creed II is gonna be a great improvement from the first game.

I'm not buying MF2 however. The lack of PC support and extra $10 is crappy.

Yeah, I need to go back and do the other ending. I made the choice of getting revenge on Dmitri, haven't gone for the payoff option.

Still enjoying the heck out of "Forza 3".

I can't believe how IMMENSE this game is. I've been playing about 2 hours a day since the game first came out, and I've only completed 7% of the career mode.

I've slowly but surely turned off almost all the assists. Last night I turned off Anti-Lock Braking and Stability Control. I still have Traction Control on, though.

It's great how the game rewards you monetarily for turning the assists off. Each race has a reward (usually around 10,000 credits or higher depending on the race). But then each assist you turn off adds anywhere from 5% to 15% more to your winnings.

With all the assists I have off, I'm getting an added 55% to all my winnings.
