Graphically, control-wise, and quite often content-wise.
Sure, the control-wise is subjective because I just happen to much prefer the 360 controller to the PS3 controller.
But it's pretty well-known that the PS3's hardware, while more powerful than the 360, also makes it very hard to port over games that look and work great on the 360.
For a recent example, look at the difference in the quality of the texture-work and sharpness of edges in "Batman: Arkham Asylum" between the 360 and the PS3. The 360 has finely detailed texturing, smooth edges (occasional tearing on both systems) and a cleaner look, not to mention more dynamic lighting effects. Many of the surface textures on the PS3 look a little blocky and blurry. I mean, it's nothing where I'd say "the 360 is MUCH better looking than the PS3", but it's enough that it's noticeable and I think worthy of mention...
[]
The only time in the game where the PS3's superior power is apparent is in the cut scenes, which look a little crisper...
[]
"Batman: Arkham Asylum" is a poor example when looking at my argument on the online stuff is better on 360, because there are a couple of features that PS3 owners get which 360 owners don't (a Joker challenge map, for instance). But I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that the 360's online play is much better than that of the PS3. A better selection of exclusive games available for download, and there are just more people online.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
all of those examples look almost exactly the same to me (well except for the second where one is obviously lighter than the other). as for online stuff, you get what you pay for. me myself i really don't care for online play at all and hate that developers are ditching offline co-op for it
and control is definitely a preference thing. obviously i'm gonna prefer the ps3 controller because i've been using the dualshock since the ps1 days
like just hearing that uncharted 2 has multiplayer co-op and no splitscreen annoys the heck out of me
is it really that hard to do?
I'll take my PS3 over the XBOX360 any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
I am not a fan of online pay, and if I had to pay for it, there is no way in hell I would even consider online play.

It's not just the online play.
360 LiVE has a much bigger, better selection of games available for download than what is on the PSN.

i'm sure there are others
I've tried very hard, but I just cannot get into Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. It's the gameplay mostly, because all the characters feel like wooden puppets. It just doesn't feel right. And the neutered fatalities are lame too.
I'm also playing Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the Wii and I have to say I really love this game. It is one of the best looking games out there I think and Wii-owners should check it out.
This morning I picked up Ghost Squad too for some more lightgun action.
DJ Hero will allow you to play as either Daft Punk.
Must... resist...

On a different note - in defense of XBox Online play, Left 4 Dead online play accounts for some of the funnest times I've had playing video games. There are a few times I got in with some really fun groups and, MAN, I was having such a blast it was unreal.
In defense of PS3, I like the XBox controller, but the sixaxis has it beat, 1) because I've been playing with it since the mid 90s and 2) it has that tilt stuff. And as I said, most of the games I'd be interested in playing on the PS3 are the ones I can't play on the XBox. If a game comes out that's available on both, plenty of sites have side-by-side comparisons to help folks decide which console they would want to buy it for.

Yeah, this is what I'm talkin about.
IGN, GameSpot and a few others frequently do side-by-side comparisons, especially for major releases like "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Fallout 3".
9 times out of 10, the 360 release is the final recommendation.
Tgraphical difference alone in "Fallout 3" between the 360 and PS3 is quite staggering. On the PS3 it's actually pretty ugly.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I played the trial version of Turtles In Time: RS today. Seems like a compulsively playable game and I kind of want the full version now... but I feel like there must be a way to get a redeemable code or points for free so I don't want to shell out the admittedly meager sum just yet.
Sixaxis sucks. Dualshock 3, on the other hand...Quoting bac0n (view post)

Hey Duke!
I finished Resistance 2. A thouroughly exciting shooter with suprisingly imaginative level design. Okay, jungle sections may not be original, but a Louisiana bayou and a semi-submerged Chicago were the standouts, especially the latter. Weapons continued to be really cool. As for the ending:

uncharted sure was a fun game, and i'd have no problem calling it one of my favorite games of all time. naughty dog can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes. from the crash bandicoot trilogy (and crash team racing) to the jak trilogy (and jak x) and now the uncharted series. i can't wait for october 13th
I had no idea there is so much controversy over "Left 4 Dead 2".
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

Half an hour into Far Cry 2 and I'm bored off my ass. The past games I've played - R6:Vegas, Resistance 2, Shadow Complex, Dead Space, Killzone 2 - maintained such a high-pitched level of intensity that this feels comatose by comparison.
Graphics look murky. Far Cry, which I was lucky to play on a PC at 1600 x 1200 resolution, positively jumped out of the screen with striking, pin-sharp visuals.

Kind of weird. When it was first announced at E3 this year, fans got upset because they're releasing a sequel less than a year after the first one, which they believed would kill the online community of the first game so soon. Boycott groups were formed.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
But it's blown over. Valve has already confirmed that they're not going to stop supporting the first game and will keep releasing DLC for it. They also flown the leaders of the boycott groups to Valve HQ to play the game, and they came to the conclusion that it's a really good game.
