I've actually watched "Alarm fur Cobra 11", and it's basically a cop show featuring the Autobahn police, interceptors etc. It's CSI level silliness because they get to solve crimes like the "real" cops, if only they happen anywhere near the Autobahn, or if there's an excuse for ludicrously elaborate and expensive stunts. The English dub baffles me, because this is a popular show in Germany, but I don't think the rest of the world, you know, cares about the "plot" enough to employ voice actors...

Indeed. This actually catches me up with every American SMT release save for the first Persona. That'll probably be remade on the PSP here in the States (April 29th in Japan) by the end of the year, so I feel okay about holding off on that one.

These Atlus folks are sickeningly good.

What's the most time you've ever put into one playthrough of a game?

Mine would probably be Persona 3 with 93 hours (127 hours if you count the epilogue, "The Answer" with it), with Final Fantasy VII 2nd at something like 78 hours.

Definitely "Fallout 3" for me as well. My playthrough was somewhere around 60-65 hours.

And I'm still loving "A Link to the Past". Whenever I play it, I'm always surprised by how deep and lengthy it is, being an SNES game.

I got stuck on the Ice Temple on my GBA LttP playthrough and never finished it. I've been thinking about downloading it from Virtual Console and giving it another go, as I've discovered I vastly prefer playing games on my teevee over a handheld.

SNES is still the greatest system ever created. Its library of incredible games surpasses any other.

I'm not trying to start anything, but what is a system if not for its games?

The 3DO was actually a pretty advanced system from a technical standpoint, and it controlled quite well (much better than the behemoth controller that was the Jaguar).

But there were like 10 games on it (exaggeration, I know). And of them, only a few were any good - "Myst" being one of them.

So I would place the 3DO at the bottom rung of "quality systems".

It's all just semantics, Meg. Basically, I would say "You should get a PS2 because it has an incredible library of games" instead of "You should get a PS2 because it is an incredible system."

Well, while everyone else was playing Street Fighter II, I pretty much mastered the Mega Man games.

Also, I'm handy for people who want to validate whether the games they played between the years of 1990 and 2000 were actually any good, because I've generally played them pretty recently without nostalgia blinders.

Shining Force 1 & 2, Super Mario World 2, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid, Actraiser, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super-Punch Out are hardly nostalgia games.

It's not like I'm saying Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose is the greatest game ever (though it's still awesome).
