"Leterel" - Autechre
One of my favorite AE tracks... their mid-period stuff is just absurdly good.Quoting keyinblack (view post)

Dinosaur L - "#5 (Go Bang!)"

"A Means To An End" - Joy Division
love the groove on this. tvotr should have covered it as a return to cookie mountain era b-side.
THERE IS A FUTURE IN HISTORY
stars of the lid's tired sounds of, william basinski's disintegration loops iv and gas' pop are my favorite ambient albums and well worth checking out
edit: and throw in the mysterious skin soundtrack by robin guthrie & harold budd
I don't know what prompted this post in this thread at this juncture, but I'm listening to Steve Roach's Structures From Silence now, so I'll throw a vote in for that. Actually, pretty much my three favorite albums of this decade are ambient/drone: Tim Hecker's Harmony in Ultraviolet, Deathprod's Morals and Dogma & Birchville Cat Motel's Beautiful Speck Triumph.Quoting Acapelli (view post)

"In C" - Terry Riley
finally got to this and of course it's fantastic. as far as minimalist classical goes all i have is this, steve reich's music for 18 musicians, and some misc. philip glass.
Can anyone recommend more? I really love this stuff.
THERE IS A FUTURE IN HISTORY
Anything Goes is stuck in my head.
Shoot me.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
So far: unimpressed. :|
And I like Demon Days quite a bit.
"Your Protector"
Fleet Foxes
(Just got the album yesterday, don't know yet what the stand out tracks are.)
"Ill Descent" - Squarepusher
This record is still incredible. I always wondered what serious jazzheads thought about it.
