I've owned Tomb Raider Legend for over a year so i decided to give it a go today. It's the first Tomb Raider game i've played and i finished the first two levels and so far not bad. Pretty fun mix of platforming and puzzles.

Plus, one of the best looking games I've ever played.
How do those games go up in price? Rarity, out of print? Just seems strange since it's used.Quoting Daniel Davis (view post)
This game is super, super rare in the US. It was made for the Saturn towards the end of its life-cycle, and thus only a few thousand were printed - I think in the low ten-thousands, which is small for a game. And in this case, it also happens to be a really fantastic game - you might say it is the Saturn's Final Fantasy VII.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
It may very well be Persona 4 (depends on what I feel like popping in when I get back from the grocery store). If not that, either Tales of the Abyss or maybe Odin Sphere or Genji (I'm also throwing a little Shadow of the Colossus in every couple days for good measure). Was gonna be Kingdom Hearts (so I could get some distance from P3 before playing P4), but then it did two very annoying things without letting me save after I couldn't surpass the second, and I was late for lunch, so I'm not going to come back to it for a little while.Quoting Watashi (view post)
I am looking forward to playing this in the future.Quoting Amnesiac (view post)
Okay, folks, tell me which you prefer, if you'd be so kind. Sway my decision.
BioShock
Resistance 2

Haven't played "Resistance 2", but "BioShock" is incredible.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Note: I'm guessing Spun would get BioShock on PS3, not the 360. I seem to remember some issues with the port.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

I have Bioshock for the PS3 and it works great for me *shrug*.Quoting Scar (view post)
Damn. If I play Fallout 3 again, I'll be a bounty hunter that eats mutants for breakfest. Tough stuff!
I just hit lvl 17 now! catch in up!Quoting Daniel Davis (view post)
I complained about it on the PS3, but only because I'm comparing it to the PC version. It looks 1000x better on PC than PS3. PS3 looks very washed and dull. PC looks incredible.Quoting Scar (view post)

I look into these Persona games. Hurm.

*sigh*
On Friday, I played about an hour of Persona 4 to be kind of underwhelmed because I was still thinking about Persona 3 and not quite willing to accept P4 on its own terms.
Well, I replayed that first hour of P4 yesterday and the subsequent 7 hours. So far, it is fantastic, in much the same way P3 was. These games are so strongly directed, that theme pervades every aspect of the story and gameplay (and in this game, story is very much gameplay). So P3's dominating theme (as repeated in the OP) of memento mori makes way for this game (which acts and plays almost exactly like P3 except for aesthetics and story) which seems more focused on self-actualization and achieving some kind of truth.
One thing that weirded me out was the voice of the crazy doomsayer from P3, Takaya, plays a TV announcer in this game. Weird.
Also, despite being on a last-gen system, the design elements of this game are top-notch. They're typically more ornate and intimate feeling than P3's environments and dungeons.
One thing I'm really iffy about is the ability to control your other 3 party members. In P3 you couldn't. And while it's still optional in P4, its presence (and temptation to use it) seems to detract from the feeling they were going for in P3.

I was away from my 360 for a few months and I was all anxious to get around to downloading the Left 4 Dead demo. Especially with all the praise its been getting and what-not...
And now I've found out that Valve took the demo off XBL the day the game released. That sucks.
So, I sucked it up and took another look at my Little Big Planet level. I added clearer instructions on what the player needs to do, and added a few more arrows to point the way, and now I'm getting better ratings in general.
Am I the only one on the forums playing this?
11 or 12 hours in, I'm happy to report that Persona 4 is fantastic and a worthy follow up to Persona 3. I'm not ready to call anything it changed in the game "better' so much as "different."
Anyone who has any tolerance for JRPGs at all needs to look into these games. They're the genre at its absolute best.
