I'm going to try snowboarding for the first time this winter. We'll see if I continue to be okay with snow, love it, or quite possibly loathe it.

Wow. How have you lived this long in Colorado without trying snowboarding? That's crazy. I was skiing at age 3 and snowboarding as soon as I was too cool for skis. Unfortunately I haven't been in about ten years, but I miss the hell out of it. I need to try to get my family out there this year.

I lived in a city that seriously didn't know how to conduct itself when it snowed. Basically, the whole city shut down every time it snowed a couple inches. Once it got worse, cars would be ditched on the roads and people would be trapped in their homes because the city couldn't plow the streets frequently enough yet refused to ease up on a ridiculous anti-salt policy. Same deal year after year. Seattle made me associate snow with HAVOC. It's supposedly dumping there as we speak, and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that mess right now.

There's a good amount of people in Colorado that have never skiied/snowboarded. The price is pretty expensive for what would probably be a daytrip was my reason. After high school, everyone either snowboarded already or didn't. I didn't want to go with people that knew how because I know they won't train right.

Hence, getting lessons from someone that's qualified, despite being told that I should save the money and learn from a friend...

    Thiiiiiink about it.

Do you work for Canada Post or something?

We regularly don't get our mail if it's raining.

Friends will train you fine. I never took any lessons and I'm an excellent skier.

It is. Add to that the massive hills, and you have a few very interesting days a year.

Through a combination of my work computer finally dying and the receptionist being out, I'm up front at work today. Which is annoying because it's noisy up here.

But the TRULY annoying thing is that every single person in the office thinks it's funny to make a variation of "MARY? MARY? WHY DO YOU LOOK DIFFERENT TODAY, MARY?" joke. I've heard it seventeen times this morning and I may kill someone.

Meanwhile, our mentally ill clients are genuinely spooked by me sitting in someone else's chair and are avoiding my eyes and acting nervous.

    This should be fun.
    ...and the milk's in me.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

You know, I'm sick and tired of people who string beads on thread and say that they "make jewelry."

This is what 90% of my friends who "make jewelry" make:

This is what my one and only friend who actually makes jewelry makes:

 Sadly I live in the "Jesus and Meth" part of the country. I still kind of want to move to "Drunks and Nothing," but also visit Inbreeding, Assholes, Lazy Fucks, and Arkansas With a Beach. Maybe also stop by Hobbits and Perverted Businessmen.

As a new part of my every few years cardiologist appointment, I have to wear a holter (portable ekg unit) for 24 hours. The holter unit is attached at five different points on my torso, and one of the leads wasn't quite sticking to my chest, since I'm a hairy bastard.

Well, I just ripped out a fistful of chest hair, down to the follicles, with the lead to attach a new lead to my chest. I don't think I'll have any problems with the lead sticking for the rest of the time.

    That stung a touch.
