If someone (say, a serial child killer) is to be put down, I'd prefer it be at the hands of an individual (say, a disgruntled parent) acting on his own accord than the state.

2010 - a year I'll never forget. Still a few more months to go, but it will easily go down as the most pivotal and life-changing year of my life thus far. Good things, bad things, happy things and sad things...this year has had it all, and in abundance! It's been a year of great highs and extreme lows - that's for sure. *Sigh* Here's to the future.

The way the teleporter would likely work is that it would make a copy of you at the new location, and delete the original. Are you the copy?
