I got invited to a board game party once. They couldnt understand why I kept my elf as far away from the door to the master evils room as possible in third act, even skipping turns. My compatriot enter entered the room, triggering the big bad. I played my last spell, walk through walls, appearing at big bads back. The room went nuts with cheers and we won.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Never got invited back *shrug*
Duke, there's a board game simulator on Steam. We played a lot of games during the lockdown that way, even more complex ones like Eldritch Horror. It's a bit clunky but totally playable. We just set up a Discord server and used headsets to talk. You can even flip the table to spill the game on the virtual floor instead of packing up in the end.

Tabletop Simulator? I actually own it!
Similar to Duke. The friends I have here wouldn't have the patience to get through those more exquisite board games.
Hate to be the one to tell you this, Eze, but your friends are LOSERS.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

This is insanely cool.Quoting [ETM] (view post)
I only have one friend who is really into them like that. Everyone else taps out when it gets much more complex than Catan.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Was just going to say that Catan is as complex as I can go.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
Guys, I walked through a wall. It was the most metal gaming move i ever pulled.
One metal move that springs to mind was having my armies commit mass seppuku to win at Rising Sun.Quoting Skitch (view post)
The most insane / hectic final round or two is when Bac0n and company realized why I had brought all my armies into one city and speed built the monument in Lords of Hellas.
My largest failure was having a roided our priest in Betrayal at House on the Hill that Will Wheaton’ed two sure thing dice rolls to lose to the betrayers.

Do I finally reveal the secret MC discord channel and we get something brewing?
Last night I dreamt that Scar sent me a briefcase full of money in the mail.
I went to spend some of it somewhere and was immediately arrested, as it was counterfeit.
Then on TV Scar was interviewed about it, and he just looked right into the camera and said "gotcha!"
That's really what you spent your quarantine time doing, dude?
I love boardgames.
Blog!
And it's happened once again
I'll turn to a friend
Someone that understands
And sees through the master plan
But everybody's gone
And I've been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up
For board games?Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I just got a personal video message for my birthday from a kid I barely know online. He wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for being a good influence and steering him towards good things and being a better person. I'm like... I comment on his posts on Facebook and we chatted a few times, but sometimes a little is a lot if the effort hits home.
Just... be excellent to each other, everyone.
Thank you! (wasn't fishing for that, I swear)
Want some rakija from the old country? *passes bottle*
Happy Birthday!
Hard to imagine I started chatting with some of you at the age of 20.... and it's 16 years later......
Thanks man!
Yeah, it's weird how long some of us have been present in eachother's lives in some way.
Happy Birthday from the not yet frozen tundra of Minnesota.
