Age does not define hipsterness. It's not enough to have self control and just NOT buy stuff or maybe just turn off the one-click button but to make public statements where you now are punishing Amazon for being so responsive and awesome (essentially not using something for the sake of being useful) is something a hipster would do.Quoting D_Davis (view post)
You're not fooling us, D_Davis. Tho it sounds like ambient music coming out of your keyboards, it's really The Decembrists.Quoting D_Davis (view post)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
Some stuff is worth buying on Amazon. If you're getting a phone charger or a cable cord, you'll pay $2 or less for it on Amazon. You'll pay $20+ anywhere else.
I think that's the only type of stuff I've gotten on Amazon this year.

I am very skeptical that much swooning is done over any of these characters, apart from Tina Fey, who is an actual person and should not count.Quoting dreamdead (view post)

Though if we were including all fictional characters, I think Liz Lemon would be the #1 answer.

Another observation: In my experience, I've found that women are much more likely to swoon over Tina Fey than men.

Surely there are a bunch of male wish fulfillment characters in literature. Someone like Maria in For Whom the Bell Tolls would fit the bill, no?
Estella Havisham in Great Expectations.
Honestly I think most men are much more likely to swoon over the male best friend characters than the romantic interest in classic literature.
