He doesn't need sticking up for. He wasn't bullied off the site. He evidently found the constant arguments he engaged in here too aggravating, too lopsided, or not worth the effort, and so he left. Qrazy's comments in the Breaking Bad thread were innocuous.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

I MAY NOT BE THE POSTER MATCH-CUT DESERVES...
...Nevermind.
Irish was a loon, and prone to fits of furiousness. I enjoyed his mostly bonkers posts, but rarely engaged him, so as not to fuel the fire. It was always going to end like this with him, as it usually does when things get emotional, we can only hope he changes his mind.
I don't know that anyone can be to blame, as he posted rather inflammatory things to begin with. I kind of got a similar tiff with a friend on FB recently. He was complaining about getting ripped for a movie opinion. I told him, "Look dude, you go on any movie site on the internet and say '2001: ASO is boring shit', and see what happens. You have a right to your opinion, but you will equally receive the strong opinions of others in response."
I've tried to get a couple friends into match-cut. One of my friends does actually check about every day but hasn't actually registered. You could say he's like a 2 year lurker of the site. I got one girl super interested in the site, unfortunately she's also one of those girls who forgets things exist right after being excited about it so she never posted.
My girlfriend lurks constantly. She's too intimidated/shy/disinterested/whatever to post, or simply sees this as "something I do".
I will go down to Times Square tomorrow and throw a stack of flyers with the site's URL into the air.

I do feel partially responsible for the demise of Irish, him and I didn't ever really see eye to eye and we did give each other paper cuts quite a bit. I will say he had proven himself to have quite a thick skin. I wouldn't doubt he might come back at some point. I am sorta sad to see him go as I don't really want anyone to go. But in basically every social circle when it gets large enough there are going to be people who are friends with some and not friends with others. I do wish I was better friends with some people on the site. But I do remember there being people I hated when I first got on that now I like quite a bit and some that are a bit the opposite. That is going to happen unfortunately and it's sorta like when you get on facebook and you think about someone and you look them up and find they've unfriended you.
