I find the mission structure of "Bionic Commando: Re-Armed" pretty confusing.
Area 1...then Area 4...then Area 13...do the Japanese count differently than us, or something?

Woo-hoo! I beat World 5 in "Braid"!
On to World 6.
Loving this game so much. I don't know why some reviews have stated that it has no replay value - I could see playing through this many, many times, just like "Portal".

It was announced a little while ago that Eidos is working on "Batman: Arkham Asylum" - a detective/melee combat game, with a script written by Paul Dini.
And these screens were released...
This looks awesome.

Theirs a huge article in the latest issue of Game Informer on it and it looks and sounds fantastic. According to the developers the game is going to focus heavily on his detective skills and use a sort of scanning objects system similar to the Metroid Prime series.

It'll be nice to have a Batman game done right for once.

I share your enthusiasm wholeheartedly. Today I had some real eye-opening moments. Things suddenly clicked although I've little doubt some real mindfucks are yet to be hurled my way in worlds 3~6. Still, it's dying all the time that usually frustrates me in videogaming. Stuff like Braid I find immensely stimulating. There was a bit in the game with a puzzle on the landscape like this here, but a different area:Quoting megladon8 (view post)

The puzzle was nearly complete and I thought little of it, thinking it was merely a piece of decoration. There was a puzzle fragment on the other side of a platform and the gap was too wide to attempt a jump. There was a critter nearby and I naturally assumed that I had to jump on its head to propel me higher up. To no avail however. Then I jumped again out of desperation and my jaw dropped. I was standing in the puzzle! A platform in the puzzle was an actual part of the landscape and rotating it in the correct position allowed me to reach the other side!
The batman pics look promising, but because The Dark knight rocks so much, I certainly hope that the game will mirror Nolan's flick rather than going all out with huge bosses and grotesque situations. Looks fairly encouraging then.
EDIT: Replay value? Braid? That I do not understand at all.

And new screens (not really spoilerish but kinda big):

While "Tomb Raider" is a series that desperately needs to die, that tiger is mighty pretty.

Anniversary made my favorite game of all time even better.
This new one looks like it is shaping up quite well.

To be fair, I kind of hate "Tomb Raider" because my dad bought it for me like 9 years ago, and the entire time I played it I had a gastro-intestinal infection, and was running off to the bathroom to puke every 15 minutes.
So every time I see/think of "Tomb Raider", it reminds me of being sick.

TMI, dude, TMI.
Those TR screens look fantastic! I might have to get back into this franchise.

I'm still really enjoying "Geometry Wars", though I really suck at it.
Especially Pacifism - I can barely get to 1 million points.
Anyone have any tips for better success in this game (Pacifism or otherwise)?

My friends had multiple orgasms playing "Braid" last night.
Though I think it's kind of lame that you can't have more than one game going at a time.
I was at World 6, and they really weren't understanding the game, so we started a new one so they could see it from the start, and it erased all my progress so far.
That seems like an unnecessary inconvenience.

I'm glad GameSpot had the balls to not give a perfect review of "Bionic Commando: Re-Armed". I don't get all this "BEST GAME ON XBLA EVAAAHHHH" stuff that IGN and other sites are heaping on it.
Like GameSpot says, it looks great, is fun and addictive, but the top-down levels get pretty annoying, the mission-selection is needlessly weird, and yes, the controls are damn clunky.

Has anybody played that new Civilization game for the XBox (and maybe other platforms as well but who cares about them haha pwned) ??
I have fond memories of playing Civ1 back in, like 1991 on my slow-ass 8086, where towards the end of a game it would take in excess of 45 minutes to go through a single round of play.
It's probably gotten a bit more sophisticated since then, tho, and I'd love to hear if anyone can recommend it or recommend I stay away from it.
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
I hear they've trimmed a bit out of it. I think its Civ3 I have at home that I can piss away a weekend on. There are reviews for CivRev over at ign.Quoting bac0n (view post)

civ 4 is so great – back several pages or so I posted screens from a game I had where I illustrated what it was like to play. And using matchcut names for cities, of course.
