Man, "Injustice" is just too much fun. There is so much content here it's insane - that they're going to keep releasing characters and maps is awesome. Very cool that Lobo will be coming soon - honestly I'm surprised he wasn't in the core game, he seemed totally up the MK team's alley.

I beat the story pretty quickly (it's like a long, middle-of-the-road "Justice League" episode), and am now playing through the "Battles" section.

"Battles" contains a few dozen (!) variations on the standard MK-totem, where you choose a character and fight through 10 others. In the Classic Battle mode, it always ends with Superman. I'm currently playing through Classic Battle with 20 characters. So far I have done (in order):

    Nightwing
    Hawkgirl
    Bane
    Raven
    Solomon Grundy

And in MK style, each character gets their own little ending. Some of them are pretty neat (fan service-y, but cool if you're into that kind of thing), and some a pretty dumb.

The same can be said for the characters' signature Super Moves. Some of them are mind-blowingly awesome (I loved The Flash), but others are strangely uninspired and boring (Wonder Woman...what the hell?)

The number of costumes available to unlock is daunting.

I do find it a little irksome that so many of the costume unlocks rely on owning other devices (many of the costumes require playing the iOS game...I don't have an iPhone), but I'm sure they'll be available for download in the future. The one I am most bummed about not being able to get at this time is the Batman Beyond costume.

The character I find to be almost universally the hardest to fight against is Aquaman. He has a few attacks that are just so fast I am never able to block them, and he also has this throw that he is able to follow up with a juggle combo and it just destroys.

I've always wondered who those people were who liked playing fighting games on the single-player mode.
    Now I know one!

Personally, I can't do it. I play the single-player game just long enough to unlock anything, then it's online only. I played about 400 hours of Street Fighter IV, and I think about 3 of those were single-player.

To be fair, though, the SF games have terrible single-player, and it sounds like the MK and DC games are much better in this department.

I would be in the same boat, believe me, but I am unable to play online due to my internet connection. I can't even search for a match.

Just have to make do, unfortunately.

Well it sounds like the game has lots of single-player stuff, so that's cool.

I wish more fighting games would have a real sing-player game. The best ever was Tobal No.2 - it had a whole RPG mode, with exploration and dungeons and everything. So cool.

It doesn't have a wonderful single player mode, but I strongly suggest you check out "Street Fighter X Tekken". It was super cool, and neat how they integrated Tekken characters into the "SFIV" gameplay style.

Are you into 2D anime fighters at all? I know you're not on the 360 much anymore (and I don't know if it's available on PSN), but "Skullgirls" is a wicked good time. Some of the best 2D sprites I've ever seen.

I hate playing fighting games online. Not only is the connection inconsistent, I'm just so terrible at the game that I have no time to dedicate hours of practice.

I remember buying Mortal Kombat last year and going online the first day and people wouldn't even let me hit them as they were putting out krazy kombos like they've been playing the game for months. Not for me.
    Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

"Mortal Kombat" can be incredibly frustrating when playing against people who are great at it, because the juggle combos end up making you feel like there is absolutely nothing you can do to compete against them.

Not that "Street Fighter" isn't frustrating against practiced opponents. I just have more experience with the latter.

Before giving up on it because I just can't fucking stand the Japanese-y feel and humor in the game and characters, I was actually starting to dig the fighting system in "Dead or Alive 5". The triangle system is much deeper than I first thought.

However, it suffers from something I find angering in fighting games - combos need to be entered so quickly it's like you need to spend 6 hours just practicing flying your thumb over the sticks and buttons at breakneck speed, shredding like its a guitar and you're Zakk Wylde.

To me there's no real skill in "look how fast I can press buttons!".

"Dead or Alive 5" grabbed me with how it encourages the player to read their opponent and build their strategy on counters, then lost me with "now enter X Y X B A B B A < A > A A RT LT A A X in less than half a second!"

I couldn't bring myself to give the latest Mortal Kombat much of a shot because of the look of the female characters. It's pretty pathetic.

    Play "Dead or Alive 5".

There seemed to be an entire part of the graphics engine dedicated to "jiggle".

I'm a single player fighter, unless my human opponent is in the room. The online players present an (for me) unrealistic challenge; apparently these people have 12 hours a day to dedicate to mastering every move. I like to be able to read my opponent outside the game, as we battle. There is a certain conection in playing witha person over and over. You learn their patterns. Especially with Tekken. It is akin to real world kung fu.

BlazBlue has a great story mode. I'm probably one of the only people who think that (it looks like typical convoluted anime stuff on the surface, and you do have to wade through some kawaii crap, I guess), but I found it really funny and charming on the whole, plus the deeper you go, the more sad and melancholic it gets, which is an interesting tone for a fighting game (or at least if there are other fighting games that do this, I'm not aware of them).
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

The Amazon deal we're bringing to you today is dead simple. Trade in $20 or more worth of "games, consoles, and accessories," and get a bonus $20 credit. That is a serious deal. Games like the 360 version of Tomb Raider will net you $54 in credit after the bonus is applied, and some titles will actually cross the $60 event horizon. Yes, you'll make money on a game you paid full price for.

Shipping to Amazon is as low impact as possible, and FREE. What you will have to concern yourself with is that obviously, only new-ish titles are going to bring the big bucks. If you're sending in a legacy library, you may have to really stack them up to hit the $20 mark, as anyone who has ever traded at Gamestop knows.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Stay Puft - I bought "Continuum Shift Extend" but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet. It'll definitely be up next.

It's another fighting game I hear has an obscene amount of content.

I traded in Lego City Undercover which trades in at $30 and with the bonus $20 credit that's more then I paid for the game.

And speaking of deals I recently picked up Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition (360) for $12.99 and the Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition (which includes the first 2 Bioshocks and all DLC) for $19.99.

No, she's only really into 2D platformers. I'm trying to get her into 3D games and other genres, but she's old school at heart. Never really owned a console past SNES.

Finally completed Mass Effect 3. Great game, exciting, heroic, climactic. I understand lots of gamers were pissed off with the finale? This is true? If so, I do wonder why.
