Jadakiss - I Love You (A Dedication to my Fans)
First off this album is terrible. If this is his dedication to his fans he must hate them. Second off I like Jadakiss he's a talented rapper but if he says he's "top five dead or alive" in one more song I'm gonna scream. If I was being generous MAYBE Top 100 (and that's being extremely generous). I don't know anyone in their right mind who could possibly believe that. That would be like if Jason Terry was going around saying he was one of the top five NBA players dead or alive. People would tell him to shut the fuck up. More people should be telling Jadakiss that.

I was reminded today while scanning my collection how wonderful late-1990s experimentation was. Nicole Blackman's spoken word poetry over an electronica soundscape by Golden Palomino. I love the melody at 2:30--so peaceful.

Tuvan throat singing group from Russian/Mongolian border. Really mesmerizing. The guy on the far left has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard--not just in his throat singing but in his "regular" voice. Incredible. "Blue Jeans" is my favorite song of hers, good choice. "Summertime Sadness", "Backfire", and "Ghetto Baby" are also of note. She's not big stateside by any means. Her claim to fame this side of the pond is bombing on SNL and having Kristin Wiig play her the following week on Weekend Update. Her charisma makes up for any vocal shortcomings she has.
