After spending about a month fearing that Sarah and I would work at universities as adjuncts around the Chicagoland area, a university came through with full-time employment for Sarah. So we'll be moving to Bartleville, Oklahoma in July.

The bummer: it's not Seattle; the positive: it's where Malick grew up and where he shot To the Wonder apparently...

Today in the Sunday School class I manage for 18-month to 3-year-olds, someone donated a few toy cell phones, which the kids were really happy about. They ran around pretending to have cell phone conversations, and it was hilarious. Here's what I heard:

I'm kind of confused by this. I think it's lip-dub because she's listening to headphones and the dubbing happens later so that we can hear what she was hearing. But I'm not sure how the participants heard the music. Because if they could hear it, why would she need headphones?

Isn't Memorial Day for remembering military people who have died?

Isn't it weird to thank people who are currently serving in the military on Memorial Day? Kind of like saying, "Thanks for your imminent death."
