Back from PAX East. Played a lot of games and have a lot to talk about. Nothing really impressed me this year. All the big showcases were pretty lame, with the exception of Aliens: Colonial Marines. That was a surprise. More later.

FYI. AC3 has no relationship to Brotherhood or Revelations. It's a direct sequel to AC2.

I meant more caught up in that I wanted to have finished the other two before AC3. Not for any specific story reasons.

We saw "Pre-Alpha" footage and a live demo of the game. Then we got to play 5v5 multiplayer against the developers where we were the Marines and the devs were aliens. It was essentially Left 4 Dead only with 5 v 5 and in in the Alien Universe. They even had the equivalent of a an alien-tank.

But what got me a little bit excited was this game is actually going to be the canon "sequel" to Aliens. So it follows the events after the movie. You board the Sulaco and see Bishop cut in half, two pods were jettisoned into space.... later in the game you actually land on the planet. One of my questions was whether the Space Jockey would be making an appearance. And the response I got was; "Well you can't land on LV-426 without bumping into the Space Jockey can you?"

This guy built and made his own costume. He's from a fan group and Sega hires him to follow the game releases.

They said this game would be a glimpse of what to expect from PS4/720 games.

Aliens: colonial marines might yet be another dissapointment, but I doubt it'll be bad or even average. I've feeling I'm going to enjoy it a lot...with some caveats.

This is just in California for now, but GameStop must now notify customers who are purchasing used games which require purchasing more content that would have otherwise been included if they bought it new.

Finished up "Halo: Anniversary" on Heroic today. Because of the repetitive and occasionally frustrating nature of the campaign (the level design really shows its age after 10 years) I decided to give it a rest and not dive straight back in for Legendary. I'll do that another time.

Instead I pulled out "BioShock 2", which I hadn't gotten a chance to play all the way through yet.

I started a new thief/assassin chick in Skyrim. Funny enough, I enjoy playing her much more than I did the mage. It might have something to do with her ability to behead enemies on occasion.

One weapon short of a gold trophy on Demon's Souls. Beaten it twice now, close to doing it a third time. Time to take a break and play some Tiger Woods.

So I started playing Mass Effect 2 after duke's bitching and surprise, surprise, I'm enjoying it.

I'm using a walkthrough because everything is way too massive, but I'm mainly playing this as a story-first, gameplay-second run.
