Depends on the generation, but yes. I'd say people recount exactly where they were during the JFK Assassination and Pearl Harbor.
I was hearing on the radio about people who have birthdays on September 11th and what they do now that their birthday is basically a somber day. So I asked around, I was born on the 41st anniversary of Pearl Harbor and have never felt any sort of somberness from the day. The only thing that has happened is, "Oh, today is Pearl Harbor Day." So I asked my parents and a couple of teachers all of whom didn't live the moment but were born within about 10-15 years after and asked them if they ever remember their parents being somber on those days and most of them didn't even know what happened on that date until they found out in history class.

In about 15 years there will be people in this mass media bulge who never experienced 9/11 and by then it really should be another date in history but not one in which is constantly rehashed every single year. I stayed off of facebook yesterday because I just don't like having to rehash it every single year.

I just swallowed my piece of gum. For a few seconds there, I was choking. I have a fear of choking to death. I was scared.

I am having a lot of trouble with sleep lately. I've never been able to just get into bed and fall asleep, as it's always taken me at least 30 mins for sleep to actually start...but now, for the past few weeks, it's taken at least 1.5 hrs. And there will be numerous times where I just won't be able to sleep at all so I stay up through the night/morning and head off to classes tired as fuck and then take a nap upon returning and get into a whole, awful cycle again. And these naps are like 2 hrs long. I think I've slept an average of around 3 or 4 hrs a night the past week. I like to get at least six. (I actually despise sleep, but I suppose I do need it.) Should I take sleeping pills or something? I don't know. I find this quite frustrating.

elixer, sounds like you have what I and my dad and brother have. Basically it's a variation on sleep phase disorder. It's where your body basically believes that you should be on a 26-28 hour schedule and doesn't take into account the normal 24 hours. Basically if I were to have no social obligations of any sort and just sleep when I felt tired I would continually fall asleep 2-3 hours later every day and sleep the same amount of time 8-9 hours. What screws this up is having things of which I actually need to be at such as class and social activities etc. The thing with sleep phase is most people tend to just figure out how to live with it. One of the things I do is I make sure all of my classes are all within the same 6 hour block usually between 2-8 pm that way I can go do social things after class as well. My dad just doesn't get sleep and my brother just lets the schedule work itself and then if he has to be to something during his sleep, he just wakes up goes to it and goes home and goes back to bed. Actual cases of it just basically say the person doesn't ever feel like they have an actual disorder and thus don't want to take any pills or any such stuff.

Some friends have told me I should take those pills that have the same stuff that turkey has in it to make you tired so I have a couple of those lying around. Or basically I'll adjust my caffeine intake based upon what I have to do over the next couple days and base my workout routines on those as well.

Ever wonder what would happen if you set a spider trap under your bed and left it for a year? Found on reddit.

All those who are phobic beware.

I have bad arachnophobia and I have managed to avoid that spoiler for now. But, there's a sickness in me that will likely click it eventually.

Yeah, those look like very region specific spiders. Creepy as shit nonetheless.

That's the creepiest part to me. It's a visual postcard of what goes on at night. I'm currently living in a basement too.

I wonder where that is too.

With that, I live in a basement, and have had a lot of bites in the past year. They all blend in with the carpet, so it's tough to see them until it's too late... Agggh.

Don't worry, guys, that's clearly rare. Spiders in your houses are most likely going to be small. Very small. Probably small enough to fit in your earholes. Nothing to worry about.

My teeth are starting to hurt out of nowhere. I may have to go to the dentist.

It's been at least a decade since I've last been to the dentist.
    Sure why not?

You know, going a decade without being to a dentist... might have something to do with teeth pain. Just saying...

Waiting on word for another potential job promotion.

Should hopefully know the answer by the end of the week.

    Fingers crossed!

I'm supposed to be reading for school, Mara. Are you trying to get me to fail? Seriously, if I don't concentrate, I'll likely get a B on my next paper, which could jeopardize my chances at getting into grad school. I wish there weren't so many distractions!! :frustrated:

I'd give you a well-thought-out reply, but I'm only on page 42, and it just keeps getting better.

I find I can only look at these types on sites in small doses. Space them out lest the vapidity finally disintegrate my already cynical soul.
