Is the technical presnetation at all improved from the demo?
    I don't think so.

It looks okay. Like a 2 year old PC game, which it is.

Some parts look really cool, others not so much.

I was just inside a Necromancer's Temple, and this part was really awesome.

I quite liked the demo for "Conflict: Denied Ops".

It's an old-school shooter at heart, but with some interesting gameplay mechanics and the style and story of a military shooter.

Having the two characters to control - one a sharpshooter, the other a machine-gun toter - was fun, and involved a little bit of strategy, but remained a fast-paced action game.

It has some OK visuals - nothing that's going to win any awards. A few little framerate hiccups, but those could surely be fixed either in the full release, or with downloadable updates.

Not sure it's one I'd purchase at full price, but when it comes down to $30, I'll probably pick it up.

Here is a good review for Dark Messiah. He gives it a 6/10

    I pretty much agree.

The combat is really fun. You can just button mash, but if you want you can also have a lot of fun with it. This is one of those games that gives a little more you put a little more into it and play it how it wants you to.

I wish STALKER would come out on the 360. I really want to play that. Maybe when I get a new computer for Spore...

    Downloaded two demos today...

"The Club" was great run-and-gun fun. It's like a beat-'em-up, but with guns instead of kung-fu. A great selection of weapons and a hilariously morbid concept made it a good time, though not much depth there. I suppose deep gameplay isn't really what they were aiming for anyways.

I also got the demo for "skate", which I was very surprised by. I enjoyed the "Tony Hawk" series back in the day, but it was milked to death. This is arefreshing change, and the trick system is great - the closest to real skateboarding that I have seen in a video game.

Played Ninja Gaiden Sigma for an hour or two yesterday before deciding that I need to be in top form before playing this game. Gotta be quick, and its hard when you're sick! So I went back to closing Hell gates in Oblivion.

And, Meg, it doesn't take 50+ hours to get to the main storyline. There are many storylines and adventures, and if you're like me, you can just wander for a long time before getting to some of the important storylines, and by then, you're character is seriously BAD ASS.

I will say, despite all the negative response around that game, it is indeed one of the best games of 2007. The atmosphere and creativity is fantastic! But it was downplayed by a lot of bugs, slow moving and inaccurate weaponry. There are also some situations where the game does not save and you die and quests that make the game very frustrating.

But as you can see, I've turned into a hardcore gamer where as I was a hardcore movie watcher. I still enjoy both.

Yeah, I heard the game was initially riddled with bugs. Depending on the system some people experienced repeated crashes. I have a copy but decided to wait for a couple patches before installing and playing.

My backlog is big, so I'll probably save it for the summer, but I'm certainly looking forward to playing it. I want to get a copy of The Witcher, too.
Giving up in 2020. Who cares.

How do you afford all those video games?

I buy a lot of DVDs, sure, but there's a significant price difference.

I used to get them for free when I reviewed video games. But the site took on new ownership and decided to cut me out of the budget.
