Thread: Video Games...Discuss Them

    Have you played Achievement Unlocked?

    http://www.kongregate.com/games/Armo...ement-unlocked

    This game is awesome.
Yeah, I had fun with this a while back. I suppose I wouldn't mind trophies & achievements if those were the point, where those were the actual goals of a game, as opposed to a tacked-on metric to make me feel like I'm not wasting my time (which actually has the opposite effect on me).

Can't really see a reason to get a gamer card.

I think some people are just more goal orientated, ya know? Personally, I don't care either way. I've never gone out of my way to get one, but I don't mind them when they come up.

I don't even know what my gamerscore is.

    God damnit.

Something happened in my last save on "Arkham Asylum", and when I logged in again to play more, it said the save file was corrupted and it had to be deleted.

So I have to start over :frustrated:

But really, not a bad thing. It's such a fun game I don't mind doing it all again. I was just really looking forward to seeing what came next.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Where you far in the game?

I'm trying to beat some of the challenges but they can be really hard. Especially the combat ones.

    36%.

I just got to the third Scarecrow section, where you turn into Bruce Wayne as a kid.

That same thing happened to me on Symphony of the Night and Diablo 2. And I totally didn't care because it gave me a chance to replay two of the best games ever made.

Ah, still some hours of gaming left.

I loved that part. I thought my 360 broke down at first! I was so shocked haha.

Trust me it's not a spoiler of any kind.

It's not like I told you about the part where Joker kills Commissioner Gordon and feeds his carcass to Killer Croc.

That happened to me on my Mega Man Anniversary Collection save data (the corruption thing), and it was right after I spent a week trying to clear Heat Man's stage in Mega Man 2 (the last of the NES Mega Man games I needed to beat), and it was very, very disheartening (and four years later, I still haven't bothered to catch up with where I was).

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

If the game lets me, I usually do an alternating save on 3 different slots.

You can't do that in this game.

Nah, that's a spoiler. Shouldn't have posted it. Unlike Daniel Davis, I'm actually sorry I read it.

Actually, this talk of trophies distracted me from what I should be talking about. Which is that I kind of love Mirror's Edge. I'm not very good with it yet, and I'm not terribly impressed with its story so far (midway through chapter 1, after a tutorial and a prologue), but the game just feels good. And it's one that provides a lot of reward just in the sense of accomplishment of figuring out and properly executing something that you have trouble with or is not immediately apparent. It's a goddamned Video Game.

I'm going to award this post with a trophy-shaped rep.

Huh. Seems like curious behaviour coming from someone like you, considering how uptight you get with other people who happen to step on your toes. But when the shoe is on the other foot, emoticons and pictures from the internet are always easier than being mature and using words. Gotcha'.

When did I step on your toes?

You posted the spoiler, regardless of your personal opinion about its status as such. If I were in your position, I would personally think of apologizing long before I considered the merits of being obnoxiously apathetic.

Who the hell pissed in your cereal today?

To be honest, I thought you were being sarcastic in your post stating that you wished you hadn't read that.

    So yeah, sorry.
