Jets have been accused of tampering before with Deion Branch and nothing came of it. It's a ridiculously hard allegation to prove, even if it is true.
That said, I'll give up our #1 next year for him.
Does Crabtree even go in the first round next year if he skips this season?
If he skips the season and remains out of game shape, then no. If you can get him in camp by Oct 20th though, then I think he's worth it.
No way he gets drafted in the first round next year, no matter what happens.

He might go late first round next year, but no way he lands in the top 10-15. Late twenties, tops.
They were fined for not listing Favre as probable on the injury report last year and the Branch tampering charge was found to be nothing and dismissed, so other than this Crabtree allegation, they're all caught up with the league office.
Ticky tack stuff. The Branch allegation was just Belichick trying to annoy Mangini.
