Struck me as odd as well. I'm in the Bible belt and people around here never started wearing masks (missed the whole "love thy neighbor" memo). There was a brief period between around late September-early November that was then disregarded during the holidays. From what I understand, this was supposed to incentivize getting the vaccine, but if you're already not wearing a mask at all why in the world would you give a shit about the CDC saying it's okay to wear them outside if you're vaccinated?
