Saw this last night, and I really dug it. You don't really see musicals of that variety too often these days, and I found myself just really swept away by the infectious music throughout. The plot is fairly simplistic, sure, but even so I found this to be a true delight, and very enjoyable throughout.
I'm really excited for a song and dance movie. I really enjoyed the trailer. I dont think I'll get to see this in theaters though.
It was alright, I guess. Getting jaded and cynical in my old age. The wife loved it, though.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
This movie and its music been relentlessly on my mind since first seeing it, and I loved it so much that I saw it again. Loved it even more the second time around. Definitely one of my favorites of the whole year!

Haven't seen this, but it's mind-boggling that this opened to a $14 million weekend and eventually made over $170 million.
It's more mind boggling to me that Black Panther is going to make more money than Star Wars the Last Jedi.
That's a level-8 boggling, no doubt, but Showman is level-10 boggle to this guy.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
So is Hugh Jackman the greatest actor of our time? He's Wolverine. He's Broadway. He can sing. He can fucking dance. He can fucking make me cry in this thing. Sorry I'm drunk but I fucking loved this movie. Already downloaded the soundtrack. It's going up there with the Lion King. Shit.
For the first time in a long time, I watched a movie in consecutive days. One thing that bothers me about the movie a 2nd time around- they don't address the animosity between the acts and Barnum right before the THIS IS ME song when he wouldn't let them into the party. They never mention this again in the movie.
The Other Side is my favorite song.
I wish you would've seen this sooner so that you could've joined me as the only two people on this forum to actually nominate and vote for the songs from this movie for the Matchies.
I’m sure this movie will get a lot of play here.
I’m not as enthused about that as Duke would be.

I'm singing the song in my head as I type this. Glorious.
Me too. I sucked at 2017 for movie watching.Quoting TGM (view post)
