A few thoughts from the DNC's final night last night.

    1) whoever was in charge of scene transitions was doing a piss poor job. couldn't ya have lingered maybe five seconds to let the message resonate? no. instead, the instant the song/speech/whatever was done, bam, abruptly back to Julia Louise Dreyfus.

    2) The instant Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin said "Our Motto here in Wisconsin is one word" everyone in my family yelled out "CHEESE!" before we could hear what that word was. I am going with Cheese until I hear otherwise.

Cheese or Beer would make more sense for Wisconsin than Forward.

What's the over/under Wisconsin and Minnesota flip red now? (or in the case of WI, stay red)

Very unlikely MN will turn red without voting irregularities.

The main reason it only barely edged out in favor of HRC last election cycle was that there were a shitton of Bernie Backers who were pissed that HRC won (along with all the bullshit about super delegates) who either stayed home or voted for Trump out of spite.

I don't see that happening this time around.

My theory is that we should give Trump a 4% advantage in every state poll since that's about the number of Trump voters that say "undecided" or "none of the above" to poll takers out of social influence (most places it's a lot more socially acceptable to openly back Biden over Trump). I have no proof of this, outside of what happened in 2016. Anyways, just read a poll that had Biden and Trump tied in Minnesota. I suspect the riots and shootings in MN and WI have left some people in the "silent majority" angry and/or scared. I also suspect the more this bleeds into suburbia, the more those suburban white people are going to drift right. It really depends on what happens in the next few months. If frickin' Kenosha (which I guess was a rather sleepy WI town before all this) turns into the next Portland for two months (or longer), I suspect that only helps Trump.

I can’t speak on the behalf of others who lean a touch to the right, but I’m voting Biden.

I was also looking at the map and if Biden is only able to flip Pennsylvania and Michigan (which I think he can do) and Trump is able to hold on to all the other states he carried in 2016, and if Maine and Nebraska don't split (Maine to Biden, NE to Trump which I think could happen), that leaves a 269 to 269 split on electoral votes. Unlikely? Sure, but we're talkin' 2020 baby. Anything is possible this year!

That 269/269 feels destined to happen with everything that's occurred.

Another scenario is 270 to 268 with Trump winning. Same states as I mentioned but Maine splits their votes and could send a single electoral number Trump's way. Trump split Maine in 2016 and gained one electoral vote from them. I looked at the counties Trump won in Maine, and it wasn't close. Nearly all of them he won with at least 5%, some with 10%. Meaning he will likely split Maine again in 2020. Can you imagine the meltdown and riots if Trump retains the White House based on a single electoral number because of Maine's wacky system?

If anything, I'm for more states that have that type of system, but I think it's just Maine and Nebraska?

But yeah, could only imagine what would happen in either scenario if a split state decided the next President.

Pretty sure Trump wins the EC again, Biden wins the popular vote and Dems blame leftists for losing again. If it somehow ends up tied the Supreme Court will rule in Trump's favor just like they did for Bush in 2000.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

WWI was a massively stupid war. Wilson and America never should have gotten involved.

That's hilarious. Trump hatred of Obama stems from the 2011 White House Correspondents dinner where Obama roasted Trump. Supposedly this is when Trump decided to run for president. Although those Correspondents dinners are basically a roast where everyone busts each others balls for shits and giggles. Proves DJT is too thin skinned to roll with the punches. It's like getting offended at a Comedy Central Roast.

Remember when the height of Trump's hijinks was when he quoted Bane in his inauguration speech?

Times were so much simpler back then.
