Meh. The girl's cute but there's not a whole lot of suspense here (despite the not exactly looming five-week deadline), and the middle section of the film is padded with lots of unnecessary subplots.

I don't think the subplot about Wadjda's mother is irrelevant. The predominant theme is how much it sucks to be a woman in Saudi Arabia.
