I'm glad I never went ahead and purchased "Saints Row The Third" despite all the deal there have been.
In November there's a "full package" edition with all the DLC, costumes, guns and everything for $50.
I'll get that one at some point for sure.

Ah yes. Nice pick up Acapelli. And LOL @ myself for posting this in the video game thread and not the NFL thread.
Torchlight 2 is better than Diablo 3. The main reason is how the characters progress, the choices you have to make when you level, and the gear. Having to choose between stats when leveling is a meaningful decision, one that Blizzard took out. Also, choosing skills in T2 is more rewarding because it feels more like you are creating a character and shaping him or her to be the character you want to play, rather than the character that the developers made. You can't just swap out skills on a whim like you could in D3; in D3, there were no choices because you always had all of the options available.
And finally, the gear in T2 contains many more give and take bonuses. In D3, the only thing I ever looked at was the DPS rating - because ultimately that's the only thing that mattered in that game. With T3, choosing which gear to equip is a harder and more difficult decision because there is more to your character than the DPS rating. You have to think about how the gear works with the kind of character you are creating. Yes, with this system it is possible to make a "broken" character, but without that chance, these kinds of games are meaningless.
That's really all there is to ARPGs. It's all about the choices you make regarding your character.
yeah, i've played so few jrpgs recently that i'm having a sort of nostalgic throwback playing this game now. After the mess of a storyline from FFXIII this one is a joy.Quoting EyesWideOpen (view post)
And the combat system is deep, I spent nearly 20 hours only playing as Asbel until I tryed other characters from your party and how cool it was, each one plays differently and encourage you to try different approaches, I actually got better at playing after trying all of them.
That happens with pretty much every game that has a ton of DLC for it. You either pay more and play it a year early or wait a year and get it all in one package.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

Is the world of "Borderlands 2" more varied and interesting than the first game?
I'm getting a little tired of desert wastelands.

This is one of the big improvements over the first according to some respected sites.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
In half-life Black Mesa news, I find the rare soundtrack cues incredibly jarring and immersion-killing. I'm close to the end though.

Man, I'm so burnt out on FIFA. My friends will all buy it, and I'll probably end up doing the same along the line. But ugh, I really should spend my money on something different.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

I don't know about this "bone wall climb" (the part with the rotating blades? If so, my story's like E's), but fighting that goddamn army of goddamn Kratos clones was the worst. They just. Kept. Coming.Quoting Scar (view post)
Anyway, interesting game, on a lot of fronts. Excited to play the sequels.
Yeah, I had issues on the spine climb when I first played it many moons ago. Everything else was gravy.Quoting Sven (view post)

Same. Possibly Tomb Raider depending on reviews and later in the year Metro: Last Light. But 2012 was pretty disappointing and there's nothing big on the horizon that tickles me. There's always hope for Half-Life 3. And now that Black Mesa and Duke Nukem Forever have been released, it's the last vaporware piece of a puzzle left to cry about.Quoting Watashi (view post)
