Darksiders is fantastic.
Haven't bought a lot of 3DS games, 2 in fact, but Metroid: Samus Returns is getting great reviews. Looked slick also.

On a whim just now I bought a Switch with the Mario/Rabbids game for $340 on ebay. So excited.
I went back to this earlier post since I'm playing Lost Legacy. It's a hugely playable game and when one thinks of it as an expansion pack, it's possibly one of the best ever, but really, the jeep sections are a chore in this and I'm definitely more receptive to it than during the previous game. As far as I'm concerned, open sections are out for this franchise.Quoting megladon8 (view post)

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Rockstar is teasing a big announcement regarding Red Dead Redemption on Thursday.

Saw it. But I dont what to get my hopes up that Red Dead is coming to PS4 and/or PC.
Naughty Dog sure has a hard-on for waterfalls.

I've played it and loved it on the Wii U. Will eventually buy again on Switch I'm sure. Fantastic game.Quoting Milky Joe (view post)
Ah, gotcha. Well then, Mario's right around the corner!

This is the hardest game I've ever played.Quoting Milky Joe (view post)
I've 1cc'ed most Cave/Atlus shmups.
I 1cc'ed Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga back in the day.
Can easily beat all the Soulsborne games.
After 40 hours of Zelda I was still getting one-shotted by enemies and I had no weapons. I absolutely HATE that game! I've never sucked at a game so bad. I absolutely have no idea how to play it. LOL! Probably the single most frustrating game I've ever played.
I'm cautiously excited. The open, go-anywhere expanses in these games lend themselves less to sandbox than something like GTA or Just Cause so I hope there's enough to keep me off the beaten path this time and I hope the missions show a bit of variety and challenge. Red Dead Redemption got samey after a while regardless of whether it nailed the western atmosphere. Which it unquestionably did.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)

On the contrary, I think RDR nailed the sandbox better than anybody except Skyrim. I can't tell you how many hours I spent with the game just horsebacking through the forest north of Blackwater.
I'm looking forward to more of the same with RDR2.

That's where I disagree although these things are personal. This is a game, therefore I expect...gameplay. Everything was barren, devoid of interesting things to do and although that comes with the territory of a realistic, lived-in cowboy gameworld, it didn't keep me fully engaged throughout and it took some effort to simply reach the end. I think the main missions could have been more varied and exciting also.Quoting bac0n (view post)
A sandbox game to me is one rife with opportunities, fucking about, experimentation etc... just horsebacking through the forest sounds as boring as it reads. Glad it worked for you though.

If you wanna talk barren, play GTAV and expect something to happen in the ocean other than getting eaten by a shark.
They give you a fucking submarine and there's literally nothing to explore.
I'm finding myself pretty tired of open world games. The schtick is old.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I like the non-massive ones...Prototype, Infamous, Arkham...freedom to explore without feeling overwhelmed by travel time.Quoting megladon8 (view post)
I lost track of the piles of grizzlies and buffalo I piled up in Red Dead.
“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
Is there any multiplayer approach to it?
