Wasn't the game later edited to where you weren't able to shoot? Which also made more sense within the context of the character.

Beforehand, you could just shoot anyone and everyone? I forget... Was like 10+ years ago I feel.
Not sure. I only remember lots of shooting.

You don’t ‘have’ to shoot during the massacre portion. The game eventually gave you the option to skip the sequence all together.

Divinity: Original Sin II -- Terrible title, I know. But, I wanted to play a fantasy RPG so I could play some kind of magic user, and this has gotten pretty incredible scores by the video gaming sites. And it's definitely got the depth I was seeking. But, holy shit, the combat is fucking DIFFICULT as hell. I've already gotten my ass handed to me one too many times to count. Been feeling a bit discouraged, honestly.

When are we getting another Dragon Age game, damn it?

Edit: I've had it with this game.

Well, I buckled and turned down the difficulty one notch. It's not easy now, but at least it's not stupidly difficult.

Today is the last day to buy Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Nintendo is weird, but hey I felt compelled to buy a copy so I guess it was a smart move by them?

    Don't bother, it's pretty bad.

I can see why charging full price for half-assed remasters of old games may not be 100% consumer friendly, but I can't see how a package of three good games can equal a bad game.

It may sound sacrilegious, but Mario 64 doesn't hold up well at all. The complete lack of any quality of life improvements or even minor graphical enhancements (didn't even up resolution or framerate) make it feel even rougher. It is a straight port.

Sunshine I think they upped to 16x9 native, but that's it. The controls are still awful, especially the camera (which still cannot even be inverted).

Galaxy is the only title in the package where some decent work went into improving it for for Switch, but it was also the most modern and required the least work, which also results in the work being mostly invisible.

I was really surprised by how poorly Mario 64 holds up. It is nearly unplayable now. Felt like a constant battle agaons the controller to get Mario and/or the camera to do what I wanted.

TL;DR - 2/3 of the games are fun nostalgia pieces and little more, especially with the complete lack of any work put into cleaning them up. The absence of Mario Galaxy 2 is painful.

I was never good at Mario64 or understood the love. Its hard and awkward as fuck. I bet I havent beat three levels in that game. SNES Super Mario World is the best Mario game.

Mario64 is the Godzilla (1998) of Mario games!

This I 100% agree with, but Mario games not aging well is a new concept to me. I suppose I'll have to judge for myself when my copy arrives.

A straight port of M64 = better than 95% of games made today.

Sony is shutting down the Vita Store in August, so naturally I need to stock up on the best games to play on handheld.

Suggestions welcome, but I've already got all of the FFs up until six.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    It's really not.

Don't get me wrong. One of the most important and greatest games of all time.

But it is not great to play in 2021

I was into my Vita for a year or so. I had a great time playing Persona 4 Golden and Hotline Miami. Haven't touched it since the Switch.

Agreed; the camera may feel a bit clunkier now than it did back in '96, but the overall experience of it is still a creative fucking blast, whether you're actually collecting stars or just randomly fucking around, if you ask me.

My experience with the Monster Hunter games is limited to World.

Is Generations Ultimate worth playing if I love World? Or is it too many steps backwards?

Also, I wish the monsters were more...monster like. The vast majority of them are just dinosaurs. Which is still cool, but I'm a bit of a monster fanatic, and would love to see more creative designs.

Just under an hour into Control.

I am so glad I waited for the PS5 version to download, because wow.

I am completely absorbed already. The world, the mood, the characters...holy cow.

I am playing it in graphics mode for all the pretty ray tracing and visual flairs, and it is amazing.

Also love what they've done with the PS5's haptic feedback. The shooting feels so cool.

Yes! That game is so fun to play, and also eats into your psyche.
