The opening with Reygadas's little daughter is one of my favorite opening scenes of the year. It quickly goes downhill from there, but I'd give it the edge over Battle of Heaven and Japon since at least there's no obese or senior citizen sex scenes. Though worry not, the bathhouse gangbang does not disappoint.

I liked this. The only other film I've seen of his is Silent Light which I loved. So, was the distortion mostly due to a deep focus lense being used? Loved the suicide scene towards the end.
