This is one eclectic list of viewings for only a week into the new year. Dance Party USA is pretty good stuff, I like it more in retrospect than Katz's following features, Quiet City and Cold Weather.

 I am moving to South Korea in a month to teach english...so january = no job + 3-4 films a day. I have already watched 18 films in this young year (a handful of them were some Les Blank shorts)

I definitely need to see some more Katz. I held a bias against his work without seeing it simply because of of how many times mumblecorish indie has offended my sensibilities. The only mumbecore film I would call great is Mutual Appreciation. I loathe Lena Dunham.

I dont know about the best, but he owned the early to mid 90's, and Ms. 45 is a masterpiece as well. 4:44 Last Day on Earth was a bore though.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Great movies I've seen so far:

    Fat City
    The Master
    Distant Voices, Still Lives
    Splendour in the Grass
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Why the rolled eyes? It's hardly a controversial opinion. Spielberg doesn't even like the film.

I really liked it the last time I saw it (8 years ago).

I was just more surprised that someone who's been on match-cut as long as you have hadn't seen it before.

Makes sense, most people say it's inferior. For me, Spielberg was such a staple of my childhood that had I not sat down and watched the movie through, I likely would have seen it's combined footage between commercials on network television and out of the corners of my eyes at friends' houses.

I wasn't sure if I'd seen it as a kid or not until I watched it the other night.

I find Temple of Doom to be passable entertainment. Ranks third in the Indy movies. Certainly liked it more as a kid, but still enjoyable.

Hell, when I walked into the Ossuary at Sedlec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedlec_ossuary), the chanting from Temple of Doom kicked in in my head and I started giggling.
