This is one eclectic list of viewings for only a week into the new year. Dance Party USA is pretty good stuff, I like it more in retrospect than Katz's following features, Quiet City and Cold Weather.Quoting Kurious Jorge v3.1 (view post)

 I am moving to South Korea in a month to teach english...so january = no job + 3-4 films a day. I have already watched 18 films in this young year (a handful of them were some Les Blank shorts)Quoting Rowland (view post)
I definitely need to see some more Katz. I held a bias against his work without seeing it simply because of of how many times mumblecorish indie has offended my sensibilities. The only mumbecore film I would call great is Mutual Appreciation. I loathe Lena Dunham.
I dont know about the best, but he owned the early to mid 90's, and Ms. 45 is a masterpiece as well. 4:44 Last Day on Earth was a bore though.Quoting B-side (view post)

Why the rolled eyes? It's hardly a controversial opinion. Spielberg doesn't even like the film.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)

Makes sense, most people say it's inferior. For me, Spielberg was such a staple of my childhood that had I not sat down and watched the movie through, I likely would have seen it's combined footage between commercials on network television and out of the corners of my eyes at friends' houses.Quoting baby doll (view post)
I wasn't sure if I'd seen it as a kid or not until I watched it the other night.Quoting SirNewt (view post)

“What we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.”
I find Temple of Doom to be passable entertainment. Ranks third in the Indy movies. Certainly liked it more as a kid, but still enjoyable.
Hell, when I walked into the Ossuary at Sedlec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedlec_ossuary), the chanting from Temple of Doom kicked in in my head and I started giggling.
