Aw, RIP Israeli producer Menahem Golan, who also directed Chuck Norris classic The Delta Force.

Edit: and producer of all-time fave Runaway Train.

Very sad. He battled a lot of demons, and often publicly. Hopefully his family can find some form of solace in all this...

I came of age watching Mrs. Doubtfire and Hook far too many times to admit. He was one of the first actors who I learned about, and this is almost as sad as Hoffman's passing, even though one put out far greater of a legacy.

    Well, fuck.

I can't imagine half of the movies I watched as a kid and grew up viewing as comedy even later without him. Hearing about this honestly made me physically feel it in my gut. And that was even before I found out the cause. So upsetting.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

Was he suffering from depression or anything? Seems like this is out of the blue from a public POV.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

He checked into rehab shortly after his latest show's cancellation. Unfortunately, I suspect this wasn't a complete surprise to his peers and family.

Cadillac Man is the shit. I'd rather watch that again than a lot of Williams' output.

I at least agree that Cadillac Man is an enjoyable movie. My favorite Williams' film is probably Good Will Hunting.

Devastating. A childhood favourite of mine. Can't recall the amount of times I watched Jumanji, Hook, and Mrs. Doubtfire as a kid. He lost me a bit as a comedic performer after that, but luckily enough I had his dramatic catalog to dive into.

In the early 2000s I was obsessed with his performance in One Hour Photo, and proudly rocked that avatar on Rotten Tomatoes for a long time. I have to admit I lost track a bit of him in the last few years, although I did watch Man of Year recently. Not a great film, but Williams kept me invested throughout.

At a loss of words, to be honest. Looks like I'll track down a copy of The Fisher King this weekend, and listen to that Popeye soundtrack once again.

    Last movies seen
    Frank: Good
    Mistaken for Strangers: Good
    Guardians of the Galaxy: Good

    Last TV seasons watched

    Treme (S04): Good
The Legend of Korra (S03): Good

    Currently reading
This Side of Paradise - F. Scott Fitzgerald
