I really, really like that show New Girl. So nice to see a show that features character who are nice to each other, and who have good hearts. Totally refreshing. It's a joy to watch, well written, very funny, and often genuinely touching. Finished S1 last night, and liked every episode.

I've been watching Star Trek: TNG and just moved into S3. The first two episodes in S3 were two of the absolute best so far.
Is this your first time watching it? There's some great stuff coming up. Season 3 is when some of the best writers of the show came on board, including Ron Moore, who would later go on to develop the new BSG.

Bletchley Circle is so silly, but the four women are terrific in it. Two different cases for the second season, eh? I'm okay with that.

I was reading an article arguing that television would be better if it followed a more European model of having limited seasons with shorter runs that happen not on a yearly schedule, but when the material is ready. I pretty much agree with that. But then it was listing shows that feel complete and shouldn't come back for a second season, and she mentioned The Fall.

Really? That's where you think that show should end? Really?

What do you mean, Mara? I love it when shows end with a cliffhanger.

In all fairness, it wasn't even a cliffhanger.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Just for influential and pop culture's sake, I think you gotta mention "Who Shot JR?" from Dallas S3, a show I have never seen a single episode of.

I picked up the first three seasons of Bored to Death a couple weeks ago for cheap and watched through season 1 on new years while I was sick. Really good show and a great cast. Surprised I never heard anyone talk about it.

I'm viewing and loving Terriers despite knowing there is only one season. Also I want to add Lost Girl Season 3 to the cliffhanger list.

Thankfully Terriers had a pretty satisfying end. Right up there with Freaks and Geeks as far as one-season wonders go.

I can't help but wonder how many of the creative staff for Star Trek: TNG were having children around the middle/end of Season 5. Between Warf's (annoying) son and O'Brien's baby daughter, it's a bit distracting. I keep expecting an episode where the cast repeatedly shouts "BABIES!!!" at the screen. Maybe Season 6?

Showtime is considering a Dexter spin-off starring Michael C. Hall. What is this.

"We're at the very preliminary stage," Nevins said. "That show is that character…and if I were to do something, I would do Dexter in a new concept and configuration. I want the show to feel different, not just a continuation of the old show."

Anybody else get the feeling they understand the concept of "spin-off" better than Showtime president David Nevins?

The Americans and Hannibal are excellent. Now that I think about it, I haven't watched the season finale of Hannibal.

Just watched the worst DS9 episode so far, called The Vortex. An interesting idea, but MAN, the dialogue was clinkier than a pair of shoes in a dryer, culminating with Quark exclaiming, "You fool!" like some kind of cheesy supervillain.
