No worries dreamdead... I realized what I was reading very quickly and stopped. Nothing was ruined and I wouldn't worry about where you place spoilers too much. Thanks though!Quoting dreamdead (view post)

lots of database errors
When I attempt to rate a movie in one of the Yearly Film Database threads I get this error and my vote isn't counted:
Thoughts?
last four:
black widow - 8
zero dark thirty - 9

Thanks. That might be hard to replicate. Were you using an IP blocker? How many threads did you try this on?
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
I'm not aware of using an IP blocker. It happens on every thread, but apparently only with my personal laptop. I just tried it on my work computer and it works the way it's meant to work. Hmm.Quoting number8 (view post)

Since yesterday's outage the banner has appeared squished and I'm not able to click on any of the links at the top (My Profile, Settings, etc.). Seen this on two different computers and two different internet connections. Thoughts?

I have registered the domain match-cut.net. I am in the process of trying to decide how best to expand the site. My main thought was a imdb-lite type place used sort of essentially for rating and reviews of all movies exclusive for match-cut users. So, instead of people needing to always ask who has seen what and what people's thoughts are, it is stored all in once place (also easier to locate your old reviews). The other thought was essentially a blog, like the RT diaries of sorts.
Any other ideas?

The whole ratings/reviews thing sounds cool, but I bet the blog idea would perhaps be easier to implement. On the whole, both ideas rock.

Raiders, you rock.
I LOVE the idea of the database idea. Sounds pretty complicated, though. Got ideas on how to implement/design/program it?
The blogs, on the other hand, isn't something I'd be likely to really use myself. The way I see it, I'd rather people post their reviews, essays, lists everything here. A lot of us already have blogs and I'm not sure I'd be any more likely to look at them if they were hosted here.
Perhaps a listing of the Directors' Consensus' and Yearly Top Lists, etc.
Hmmmm... I like this idea. Though as you know, getting the old consensus data from the idiot who has it will be near impossible.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

It would be nice to be able to attach .rtf files to messages.
Woops, I should have put this in the suggestions thread, didn't see it before.
Hey no database errors since my previous posts!
Is it possible to raise the PM limit again?
bump?Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Bump.
A cap makes reputation largely pointless, and the system only worthwhile for sending mini-PMs to one another. (Personally, I find mini-PMs to be valuable, but only if the ability to give rep isn't capped itself).Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
number8 has over 7,000 rep. I have ~2000. But as far as these numbers are concerned, we both have the same influence. That makes no sense.
I did it to prevent the inevitable exponential growth of people's total rep (not rep power) due to multiple people giving them 30+points and thus the gradual erosion of any relevance the system really has. The way I had it set, it was gained more through longevity and posting prowess and at some point, it seemed unnecessary to keep increasing. The power is less important than the total rep score anyway.Quoting Brude (view post)

Bring back neg rep. I've been backlogging certain posts that I've been itching to bring down the fury.
Sure why not?
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

B-side mentioned it in the other thread and I'd like to second it: can we get a link back to the forum index at the bottom of threads? It was present at the old site and when I hit the end of a long thread page it was easy to go back to the index by clicking that link. Currently, I'm hitting the Top link and then clicking the banner, which seems like a pointless extra step.
That was removed because people requested it to be removed in this very thread.
So... no.
