Thread: Discuss the Musics Thread

Just listened to this album and I love it...I'd imagine some sort of super collaboration between Lightning Bolt, The Black Dice and No Age would sound something like this.
I've heard a lot of people describe it as a dancier Growing, and after seeing Growing perform, I'd have to agree.

Has there been any talk about doing another music swap? I'd be up for it if anyone else is...

Anyone here listen to Breathless, with Dominic Appleton (This Mortal Coil) on vocals?

These guys are awesome. And what's even more awesome is that Amazon has all of their albums on MP3 for dl. This is a HUGE money saver, as most of their CDs sell for well over $40 now.

Check out their albums, Three Times and Waving and Chasing Promises. They are incredible - a great mix of goth, new wave, post-rock/punk.

I'm totally in for a music swap.

And I want to mention, The Church was a great band. They had bagpipe solos. Wicked.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

I heard samples and I was very impressed. Sounds like a combination of Subliminal Sammich and Satyricon, which pleases me greatly.

It peaks with track 8, Young Cassius, out of 14 tracks. But I guess the last 4 tracks are just bonus tracks or something - the core album is 10 tracks, and it rocks. Tracks 5 and 8 are amazing - as good as 1979 and Asbestos Lead Asbestos.

Subliminal Sandwich is my favorite MBM album, with 99% second, and I think this new one is 3rd.

Anyone else pumped up for Record Store Day?

The closest store to me will have Peanutbutter Wolf and Daniel Ash and David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) doing DJ sets and The Donnas which I could care less about. The coolest part is the exclusive releases though. I'll definitely be getting The Black Keys, Built To Spill, Death Cab For Cutie, and Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks 7"s.

I cannot get enough of this Bruce Kaphan album. Man is it ever beautiful. I would love to hear what he could do partnered up with Eno or Lanois.

I need to listen to more of his work with American Music Club.

Awesome, I didn't realize they were coming out with another album so soon and it was even listed on RYM! Looking forward to the No Age as well.

EDIT: Ah, live album, but two new tracks will do for now.
