Ahh got ya, well I don't know much about techniques on anthropomorphizing that kind of stuff or what have you, but strictly in regards to visualizations (which that approach would fall under) more generally, they're wonderful. Visualization is very helpful in stress management, in training for peak performance and in many other domains. So more power to that approach.
    Sweet. Much appreciated.

Free beer is easy. Just sleep with the bartender.
I dated a bartender for something like five months. I got free beer and drinks before and after opening hours. During openings hours I rarely got freebies, which would have been weird considering all my friends go there. Also, I don't mind paying for my drinks.

    Quote Quoting NickGlass (view post)
Actually, that's an interesting question: do you accept an invitation to hang out with a bartender outside of their work? For some reason, I see that as crossing a bit of an ethical patron/supplier boundary. I make the executive decision on a case-by-case basis, though.
I feel the same way. There's a bit of a line I feel like I don't want to cross, but if said bartender is funny, interesting, hot or something else, I'll go with them.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

If it weren't for writers who didn't read, there'd probably be about 80% less, ahem, "writers."

Same here. I got to work on time today.
I was referring to getting up to the mountains to snowboard. It was the first time I had fresh powder, and it was amazing. I was one of the first to show up, and being a Wednesday, not many were there the entire time I was there. Loved it.

By the way, it was probably shorts weather yesterday and this morning. Now, where I'm living, it's snowing hard and nineteen degrees. Bah. Keep the snow in the mountains!

Wow, the car crash video was taken down due to a copyright claim by CBS. That is super weird.

My roommate has decided that in addition to being an artist and a photographer and a jewelry designer, she is also a writer.

    Heaven help us.

She has started giving me writing advice, and I swear to you, it might be the last straw. I've been very patient with her quirks, but I'm not taking writing advice from someone who doesn't even read.
Is she like Garth Merenghi, whose written more books than he's read?

that's strange to me, because it was the raw footage, not a recording of the cbs broadcast featuring that footage. that seems to imply if you send a video into a news station they then own the video. huh.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I wonder how skiing/snowboarding is on the east coast vs. west coast.

Ice vs. powder. Crowds vs. altitude sickness.

    That's it in a nutshell.

Duke, you ever been to Sunday river?

Can't say I've ever had altitude sickness. But I've always lived here.

How much of the east coast mountains use man-made snow? And what's the average amount of lifts/runs on a restort there?

I might try and go again tomorrow.

I don't get sick from altitude, but I do get terrible, long, gushing nosebleeds if I change altitudes too quickly.

All the ski mts here make their own snow. The bigger ones maybe have 10 - 12 lifts.

    Of course.

It's a bit of a drive but I've been there a few times. Too big for my liking. Too many peaks. I stick to 1 Mountain; Loon.

It's completely different. Trails are actually trailers out here, divided by trees. Less powder. Less room to roam.

    SHOCKING NEWS, EVERYONE.

Last night, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark debuted a brand new, reworked finale!

It malfunctioned and Spider-Man was stuck hanging above the audience for a full minute, before they abruptly just stopped the show because they couldn't get it back working.

But no one fell to their death! So it's an improvement!

Well, no one fell to their "death" prior.

I still want to see this. I hope they fix it.

I know what link that is, and I'm not going to click on it, because I don't want to punch a hole through my work computer right now.
