I will be honest; I didn't see you post on lentils. I'm sure they deserved it.

In a way, I blame you for not burning them earlier and posting about it, as that may have shifted the discussion away from hipsters, and I wouldn't feel as if I were a hollowed out shell of a human being for having read two pages on the definition of a hipster.

I kept waiting for the real discussion to start, the one worthy of two pages.....AND IT NEVER HAPPENED!

    It never happened.

I also like the handkerchief look, especially around the house or doing something outdoors.

And I'm glad I wear scrubs to work.

I got home and saw that there are two more pages of Random Thoughts and got excited. Turns out it's just two pages of trans complaining.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

You could never get away with anything less than an open collar dress shirt in my office, and if you're meeting with a client it's expected that you wear a tie. The exceptions to this are maybe HR, IT, marketing and the stereotypical, eccentric engineers who still wear an open collar shirt, but one that hasn't been pressed for years and still has the mustard stains from last Tuesday's lunch on its breast pocket. Tattoos, earings, uncommon hair colours--all very not cool. I'd say our clients are some of the more conservative people on Earth.

I kind of like dressing up, though. And I find the dress code allows for a lot more variation than one might imagine. It's almost like working within a genre.
Wishful thinking, perhaps; but that is just another possible definition of the featherless biped.

The official dress code for my office is pretty lax, but my department has an unspoken rule about having a higher standard. I wear blouses and slacks every day-- "business casual"-- but I invented my own casual Friday, where I wear jeans and t-shirts or sweaters, which are permitted under the official dress code.

Sometimes I wear a skirt to work, and when I do, I am asked why. Normally I don't, though, because I like to have pockets, and what is with skirts not having pockets? So inconvenient. I also hate slacks without pockets, which is a girl problem.

I own one pantsuit and one skirt suit, and I never wear them.
    ...and the milk's in me.

At my last company, we had software guys that would stroll in at 10am in Guinness branded pajama bottoms. I always knew I should have majored in computer science rather than ee.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I am a big fan of optical illusions, and to this day, this one is amazing to me.

If you stare at the center black cross long enough without blinking, the "missing dot" that is rotating becomes green and the rest of the dots disappear.

Ah! I get the green (opposite of red) but the dots disappearing is baffling. And a bit creepy.

    I love that one Raiders.

This is one of my favorites. The girl is spinning in a clockwise direction. Try to get her to spin in a couter-clockwise direction with your mind. W00T (hint: there's a really easy way to consistently do this)

Well, she's spinning in whichever way your mind initially fixates upon. In my case, she was already going counterclockwise.

After a minute, I can change the direction at will just by watching her arm or leg and telling myself which side of her body it is crossing.

I have the focus on her elevated leg and tell myself left or right leg for me to change it.

I saw it counterclockwise first as well. Just out of curiosity, are you left handed?

Bah, someone on the New York Times web staff finally corrected it so that after 10 stories, one can't just eliminate the post-html info and search stories endlessly. No more NYTimes pieces for the rest of the month. :|
