Alright, that's it. It's cliff notes review time:
Go Tell it On the Mountain was really good. It was an interesting family drama, that brought into focus the role of religion in family. Baldwin is a very talented writer. He wove each character into the story seamlessly, and gave them depth through their actions instead of his descriptions. I look forward to reading more of Baldwin's work in the future.
Eat it bitch.

I'm experiencing a bit of a conundrum here.
A friend of mine needs a short (1-3 page) sci-fi story for an assignment tomorrow. He is not a good writer, and he has often envied my writing skills, and asked if I would mind throwing something together.
I agreed.
The problem is, I honestly think this is some of the best work I've ever done.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Can't you keep what you've done already and write something else for him?
