I'm all in favor of alternating between all of the banners Wryland posted on this page. Damn. My favorites are the Invasion of the Body Snatchers one, the Vertigo one, Patton and OUATITW. The blue tint in Fonda's eyes and the green coloring in of the pod that McCarthy is poking are awesome.

It's one of my favorite things to do with a BW picture, but only in moderation. Too much and it starts to look like Pleasantville, which isn't bad but just isn't what I want.

Nothing wrong with the grain... it's the blow-up artifacts that are the problem.

The original image was a gif... which means 256 colors max, so I naturally went for the source. Can't fix what was already broken.:)

The difference, and the reason for why I thought it was necessary to use this banner, is that this has become a beloved film here, for better or worse, and it seems a very signature, or banner, film for the site right now. On the other hand, we almost all hated Transformers.

I don't mind it generally, but this I have to see every time I open the website and there is no part of the website where it isn't prominently at the top of the screen.

He found it weird enough to ask. I told him exactly what you said, she's licking a watermelon, and while no, he doesn't get the innuendo, and no he's never interrupted things, it's just a bit awkward. He's never taken an interest in the banner before (aside from the Speed Racer one, for obvious reasons), so it's a bit odd that this one stood out to him and made him question what was going on.

I also post from work primarily, and while I work with my family, I still don't want them thinking I'm spending my time at work doing anything... embarrassing.

In fairness (I think) Eternity is youngish and often younger people get floored by a film that comes out, generally smaller or indie and generally by a new young filmmaker, that winds up being one of their all time faves. For me it was Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction in the 90s. For someone else it was a Cassavetes film in the 60s or 70s. Perhaps it was Citizen Kane in the 40s or Stranger than Paradise in the 80s. These things happen.
