They should've cast Stallone as the main guy.

That poster is sick. The trailer's okay. Seems like Wild Bunch/Dirty Dozen but with clone troopers etc.

If it manages to capture 60% of the magic of those two films, it will be fantastic.

Looks awesome. Special note that there's def a shot of Ultron(s) in there. And there's a very quick shot of Spider-man that looks an awful lot like Andrew Garfield, oddly enough.

Is that Vision dressed as Ultron? And Gomora as the Mad Titan?

Animation looks gorgeous. I only wish some of the voices were the people they were designed after.

Based on the fact that I seem to really enjoy M.O.D.O.K. on Disney+ than most others (if the relatively low episode scores on imdb and trakt are any indication), I might have to seek more Patton Oswalt's comedy out, because his take on superhero sitcom is right up my alley.

Looks nifty enough, but far less adventurous than something like The Animatrix and is therefore probably not on my radar. But I watched the trailer and have to say that unsheathing a lightsaber for a draw-strike as if it were a katana makes zero sense.

Its about speed. Like how the Secret Service unholsters and takes safety off in one motion instead of two like SWAT.

(I know nothing, I just repeat things I hear in movies.)

Disney+ and Star library is a little meh. I've subbed for a year so that I can at least get through the Simpsons (to around Season 12 or 13, maybe) and for my wife, mainly, but hopefully HBO Max can get here soon so I can access older movies.... legally.

Disney Branded Television is in development with nine-time Emmy Award-winning international animation studio Baobab Studios on The Witchverse, an all-new animated anthology series based on Baobab Studios’ acclaimed, award-winning interactive experience Baba Yaga (https://www.animationmagazine.net/immersive/baobab-reveals-more-of-baba-yaga-ahead-of-oculus-debut-jan-14/).

Working closely with Baobab Studios, Disney Television Animation is overseeing the development of the project for Disney+. Baobab Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer Eric Darnell, writer and director of Baba Yaga, Madagascar and Antz, will executive produce the series.

The Witchverse is a global celebration of the international cultural phenomena of witches, their magic and their universal connection to nature. Each “witch-i-sode” will comically explore and upend common misconceptions surrounding global witch mythology and lore from a mélange of cultures and perspectives around the world.

Book of Boba Fett starts out surprisingly weak, even amateurish, which is odd considering that the first (and third) episode was directed by Robert Rodriguez. But the second is great stuff, and the whole enterprise picks up steam after the third. It becomes tied very closely to The Mandalorian show, enough that it's fair to accuse it of not being able to stand on its own, but I didn't mind. Was quite happy to see certain characters. As for Boba Fett specifically, I like the people involved and there's some good stuff here (and some weird shit, like the Millennial Vespa Squad), but the finale will have to really pop to tie things together well.

Finale was okay. Bryce Dallas Howard's one episode was better than Robert Rodriguez's three, maybe even combined. Overall a missed opportunity.

Kenobi suffers a bit from the by-now-expected obligation to neatly tidy up loose ends and seed various premonitions and easter eggs regarding the future trilogies. Ewan, the only truly great part of the whole enterprise, treads valiantly to keep it afloat and maybe just barely succeeds. Rest of the cast is good, the writing is fair and I liked the new characters, but the little girl who plays Her is better when she has no dialogue to muggingly munch through. Unexpectedly lovely to have Hayden back. Not really a ton of surprises given, you know, we already know the broad strokes of how things shake out. But it has a few things on its mind beyond fan-fellatio at least.

First two episodes of Andor are slow-burns, which I normally wouldn't mind much because you can feel Tony Gilory behind them, but they also feel a little too shapeless maybe? More than compensated by the world-building that genuinely feels lived-in and thought-out though, on both sides of the conflict (loved the bell-towering dude hammering the time). And it greatly builds to that incredible third ep, where the world-building makes that town come truly alive against the invading force, with a few great action set-pieces. Just exciting, stirring stuff there.
