Oh also, after every post I make a popup asks me

"Are you sure I want to leave this page"

to which I need to click YES for my post to go through. Sometimes it goes through fine, and sometimes it brings me to another screen that says "This forum requires that you wait 15 seconds between posts. Please try again in 12 seconds."

To which I just use the back arrow on my browser and refresh the screen and my post has been submitted.

This is the only Vb forum i am having this issue on.

I'm not aware of using an IP blocker. It happens on every thread, but apparently only with my personal laptop. I just tried it on my work computer and it works the way it's meant to work. Hmm.

I ran diagnostics using several malware tools and it seems to come back as clean. The host also thinks it's clean, and no signs of the previous exploit. Google currently lists the site as safe:

So after getting several services to scan the site multiple times and they keep coming back with reports saying there's no malware or anything malicious or exploitative on the site at all, I scoured the forum's template to find the source of the popups, and I think it was the Tapatalk plugin after all? I disabled it and now I can't see the popups anymore. Let me know if you guys are still seeing popups after a couple of days.

I'm having all sorts of problems of late- there's no quick reply box below threads, when I click reply, it takes me to page with no text box, so I need to reload the page for everything to come in. the Video and Image insert buttons work 50% of the time- so I'm struggling with the weekly release this morning- every time I click on the ADD IMAGE, no dialog box pops up and the text I had already typed out goes gray and I need to reload the whole page. The RESTORE AUTO-SAVED TEXT button does not work so Ive since copied my post into Microsoft Word to finish it.

I have the same issues, though if you want to keep using Chrome, the New Posts page still updates. I've just abandoned the front page and instead refresh the New Posts page to keep up to date with the activity.

It hasn't happened to me at this forum yet, but the redirect started hapenning to me a few days ago at another forum (and only on my iPhone, not my iPad).

If you Google the words Lemode-mgz.com redirect, you'll see tons of links reporting the same activity at all kinds of different forums, all starting within the last week. Seems to be malware associated with Google ads?

Yeah, I had this as well and unless I'm wrong and I picked up something elsewhere it did a goddamn number on my laptop. Had to completely wipe the hard drive and go back to a years old version of OS X. Haven't tried putting my backed-up data back on so I'm still not 100% sure it's been solved.

I'd be able to use my browsers and any other program connected to the internet for about a half-hour after each reboot but then they'd lock down and refuse to load anything. Kept getting notifications from iTunes that it was attempting to contact an unauthorized server. Ran virus scans and whatnot and were unable to find the problem. Hopefully we've purged it with our aggressive deleting of tons of stuff.

This is actually a good detail, though -- first time I ran into this error, I was quoting other people's posts. Eventually, I had to remove the quote boxes entirely before it went through.

It's the server's security module blocking some inputs that it determines as spam. I tested it and if I disable the security entirely, you'd be able to post that sentence. I'd have to look into if I can configure it differently.

I've played with it a bit, but not much because it's frustrating. I haven't keyed into any specific phrases that will trigger the error every time.

First time this happened, though, I was quoting two other posts & included a URL in my response. The post wouldn't go through until I removed all BB code and any URLs.

Horror does not drive the plot. The antagonists are cannibals in name only (you never see them eat anyone on screen, for instance). The horror elements that do exist only exist in the last act of the film. Those scenes contain brutal violence but it's nothing a regular horror fan wouldn't have seen before.


Inexperienced viewers, who only know the genre from mainstream stuff like Paranormal Activity, American Horror Story, and The Walking Dead, will find those same scenes freakish and excessive.

No, it isn't broken. It's just limited.

vBulletin searches are simple. Words only. No phrases. No booleans.

This site runs off mySQL, and I'm guessing it's set up to do basic myISAM full text searches, which means:

- Search ignores any word less than 4 letters.
- Search ignores certain "stop words," ie common words that would return too many results, like "because" and "when." (There's a list of them here (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/fulltext-stopwords.html) if you're curious).

The search function won't find "It Follows" because "it" is less than 4 letters and "follows" is a default stop word. That's why your search returned nothing. Both your terms were eliminated before they were even run against the database.

Correction: It's 4 letters, not 3. You'll run into the same problem if you try and search for "Spy" (Paul Feig's comedy) or "Her" (Spike Jonze's sci-fi thing) based solely on their titles.

Also, search can't tell anything from context. "S.H.I.E.L.D" is not the same as "SHIELD" (and will return nothing, because for practical purposes you'd be trying to search on individual letters, which will be ignored). Likewise "Man from U.N.C.L.E." would run into similar problems.

My suggestion: Display three most recent years (e.g. 2017, 2016, 2015) and then create a forum immediately below called something like "Film Database Archives" or "Years 2012-20xx" and stick the older years in there as subforums.

I think it would be kind of cool and fun to document the trends we witness in movies in real time so we could refer to them later. Kind of like a mini-MC-data-repository where we could bring up past evidence in future arguments. I'd love to help document this stuff.

Fun Examples that come to mind:

1. Unfitting Rock Music in Trailers
2. Inception "BWAAA" in trailers.
3. Movie Poster posing with the back towards the viewer with something big in the background
4. Bad Photoshopping in movie posters
5. Good Photoshopping in movie posters
6. Movies that end with the movie title

Sometimes you have to refresh the page after posting before it'll show for you. But yes, that's how it should work. Just tried it again myself deleting the spaces you put in, and it still showed up in the preview.
