Has anyone seen Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill lately? They're pretty haggered. They look like Guy Pearce's makeup gone wrong in Prometheus.

Doesn't she do stand-up nowadays or something like that?

Wishful Drinking was a one-man Broadway show, not stand-up.

EDIT: I realize that the distinction is minuscule, since it's autobiographical.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I wasn't really expecting much more than minor roles for any of them. I'll be pretty shocked if they're planning on trotting the old crew out for a full on swashbuckling space adventure.

Yeah, that. I caught it once on HBO. It... wasn't very good. I didn't see the whole thing, but it was embarassing. Which I guess was sort of the point.

    No shit Sherlock.

Anyway, it goes back to this quote:

"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ He pauses. ‘Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them."
Maybe it won't be true now that Lucasfilm was sold to Disney. And heck, perhaps Lucas isn't quite off Star Wars as much as we've been led to believe.

Stars talk about being (or in some cases not being) interested in getting involved.

Kind of laughed when Rachel Weisz talked about how much she loves J.J. Abrams and then went blank on the title of the movie she saw by him.

"I absolutely loved...um...Star...was it Trek? Star Trek? Is that the one he did?"

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Disney has confirmed that we'll be seeing a Star Wars movie every summer beginning 2015, starting with Episode VII, then a new episode every 2 years, with standalone spin-off movies in between them.

Maybe we'll be begging for the return of Lucas by 2019.

Oh, me too, but some skepticism is warranted. You know, guys like you and me can't really stop whatever Hollywood wants to throw our way, so why not hope for the best?

I thought the whole thing was great. Glad to see Ford isn't always the jerk they say he is.

John Williams will return says Abrams! Perhaps this should surprise no one, but I was hoping they'd pick another as it might have been seen as a sign that they had some balls. And creativity.

Agreed, Duke. I feel like Disney will handle everything well.
. . .so everyone's okay with Disney closing LucasArts and destroying the expanded universe?

I want to be excited, but I can't help being cynical.

I think they're re-working the way the expanded universe works, and re-acquiring everything to be under the umbrella of Disney. I seriously doubt they are just destroying it and saying "screw you, only movies!"

Especially when George Lucas has said time and time again that his profits from the expanded universe and properties make the money he made off the 6 movies look like chump change.

Gotcha. Only time will tell, I guess.

That out of the way, I'm excited to finally see a new Star Wars movie on its midnight release. I'm expecting more dressed-up fans than I saw for Harry Potter.

JJ being interviewed on Howard, explains why he is so secretive about his scripts. It's not because he wants everything to be a mystery. It's because of that Superman script he wrote years ago that got leaked on the internet, and the WB canceled the project because the reaction to it,. Hmmm.
