Maybe we could change the title of this thread to "Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe" - This is apparently still happening.

    Dracula Untold (2014)
    The Mummy (2017)
    Untitled Wolf Man film (2018)
    Untitled Van Helsing film (TBA)
Untitled Creature from the Black Lagoon film (TBA)
Untitled Bride of Frankenstein film (TBA)
    Untitled Frankenstein's monster film (TBA)
    Untitled Invisible Man film (TBA)

No idea how true this casting list though.

Luke Evans as Vlad "The Impaler" III Țepeș / Dracula
    Sofia Boutella as The Mummy
Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll
Johnny Depp as Dr. Jack Griffin / The Invisible Man
    Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's monster
Angelina Jolie as Bride of Frankenstein

    First pics from the Mummy.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

We actually had some fun with Dracula Untold.

Far from a good movie, but Luke Evans was charismatic enough to carry it, and the 1 vs 1000 fight was lots of fun.

Charles Dance's character and plot line is what made DU redeemable to me. Far from great, but it was decent enough.

    Luke Evans may return.

    Quote Quoting Luke Evans
“There have been talks and conversations. I think the bigger picture is exciting for all the monsters that they own. There is talk about it. I just don’t know how it will all manifest itself. I think it will happen and I think they’re just working out how these monsters interact and how they end up in the same realm with each other. If they can stick Captain America in a scene with Iron Man and Thor, I think you can definitely put Wolf Man, the Invisible Man, The Mummy and Dracula in the same film as well.”
I also learned they are aiming at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for The Wolfman.

I guess Dracula Untold being the launching pad is being downplayed and The Mummy will be the true start of the shared universe.

So the real movie list is:

    The Mummy (2017)
    Untitled Invisible Man film (TBA)
    Untitled Wolf Man film (TBA)
    Untitled Van Helsing film (TBA)
Untitled Creature from the Black Lagoon film (TBA)
Untitled Bride of Frankenstein film (TBA) with no standalone Frankenstein's monster film.

Sofia Boutella, Russell Crowe , Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp are all still attached.

    Quote Quoting Screenwriter Jon Spaihts
It’s a new creation, so it doesn’t owe much of a debt to prior films, but it is still a very romantic departure from the character as incepted in Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula, where it was a Dutch doctor who figures out a very surprising answer to an odd medical question. This is a monster hunter with encyclopedic knowledge, but it’s set in the present day and it’s just filled with good stuff I’m not allowed to talk about. But I’m very excited about this new incarnation of Van Helsing, and I hope that as the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe begins to take flight, we’ll see him cropping up in other stories, as well.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

    True dat.

If toilet paper isn't involved in the costume making process, you've fucked something up.

My favourite is the Christopher Lee version.

With one look I just realized how much trouble they avoided with Vosloo being bald. Her hair's luxurious as shit for an undead mummy. Unless they are going the same "reconstituting back to healthy state" route or something.

Also, it's just so impossibly fucking weird that Tom Cruise is in a mummy movie.

Looks like the action of M:I with supernatural twists.

    I'm intrigued.

The more down-to-earth action looks beefy, the shots of cities overrun by, well, I assume lots of fog, look considerably less appealing and interesting.

It's a weird trailer. Off-balance, I expected more old-fashioned and less modernized, but perhaps that's precisely what's gonna give this one an edge, like Meg also seems to be saying.

It's funny that Cruise is once again strapped to an airplane after Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. I doubt he actually did this stunt for realz.

I....I dunno. That was all over the place. Are they going to reboot Wolfman to modern times as well and ignore the Benicio version? I'm not sure if I heard about something like that or whether I dreamed it.

Not feeling this at all. Cruise is completely misplaced in a Horror movie, the female Mummy looks awful and the concept of a Universal Monsters series set in the XXIst century doesn't jive well with me.
