Yeah, um, I'm not sticking around for this shit. I'll be back when a discussion that has been done to death and simply goes around in circles finally ends.

    Google Chrome released today.

    http://www.google.com/chrome

It screams. And each tab/plug-in has it's own separate processing thread, which is far more awesome than anything IE or Firefox have going for them. Now it just needs an AdBlock equivalent and I'll be all set.

Her 7-year old nephew is still missing. Very sad.

Creepy. As dreamdead and I were driving to Chicago this weekend the tollway boards were on child abduction alert giving car info--apparently it was in connection with this.

The Hudson stuff is heinous. I'd be debilitated for months. I'd crawl into a hole.

I just read that the police found the body of a 7 year old boy in a SUV. It's not yet confirmed if it's the nephew.

    This is really depressing...

Anybody think it's also sad and depressing that we just killed civilians in Syria, including a father and his three children, the farm's guard and his wife, and a fisherman?

Why does a farm need an armed guard?

I think the point is that 3 children died so that America could kill the lieutenant of an Al Qaeda leader they already killed last year. Do their deaths prevent the death of 4 or 5 children down the road? I don't know. Maybe this lieutenant was a really bad guy and the fighters he smuggled into Iraq would have wrought a lot of damage.

However, I find it more likely that the deaths of civilians will anger more people willing to fight America and will further escalate the violence.

Also, this is the Middle East, not Kansas. You're more likely to have your farm robbed when living in a third-world country, no?

I not up on the robbery rates in Middle Eastern countries. I think there's more to steal at a farm in Kansas though. Anyways, if this report is accurate, and I can't find a quote that doesn't come from the Syrian foreign minister, then it's certainly very sad that some kids were killed in the operation.

It's no more sad to me than any number of horrific stories you see in the news daily however.

AUSTRALIA will join China in implementing mandatory censoring of the internet under plans put forward by the Federal Government... The government has declared it will not let internet users opt out of the proposed national internet filter.

Yeah, mind-blowingly stupid. I'm sure it'll be easy to get around it with file sharing programs and it gives the impression of totalitarianism. Bad call.

To me it seems that most of the former English colonies aren't above embracing some elements of a police state. How depressing.

We're doing alright here in NZ. Though it could be argued that our broadband is so slow, it acts as its own censorship system.
