Not standup, but in the vein of the anti-humor in that last clip:

Well, not really in the same vein. But funny.
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Anyone see Daniel Tosh's latest stand-up? I've tried to watch his stuff before, but I just can't get into him. He tends to jump around too much for my taste, without any build up to the punchlines.

He had a pretty good one about hating people who say they aren't good test-takers.

"You mean the part that figures out how much stuff you know?"

I only made it partway through the special though.

I enjoyed Tosh's new routine, though I'm more excited for the DVD release, when it isn't censored and edited down to 42 minutes.

Got tickets for Donald Glover in Atlanta May 6. Really looking forward to it. It's gonna be half stand-up, half rap show.

Nice. I'm sure he annoys the hell out of a lot of people, but I think he's funny as hell. Used to love watching him host Up All Night on USA as a kid.

Yeah, I'm sure that would help, too. I don't know -- something about his tone and the way he delivers his jokes kind of puts me off. I like a good, twisted sense of humor, but when he says stuff like all latinos are criminals -- and how it's not a stereotype if it's true -- kind of makes me think he might be a dick in real life. I know he's just joking, but still. There's something about him that rubs me the wrong way.

I've only seen a ten minute set of his, but it was pretty good. Be sure to let us know how it is.

Over the last day or so I watched:

    Louis C.K. - Chewed Up
    Whitney Cummings - Money Shot
    Bill Hicks - Relentless
Bill Hicks - One Night Stand

I had seen clips from the Louis C.K. and Bill Hicks specials but not the whole things and they were fantastic although there was no reason to watch One Night Stand since 99% of the material from that special is in Relentless. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Whitney Cummings. Her voice is grating and the first half of the show was kind of mediocre but the second half picked up and I laughed quite a bit.

Definitely watch Revelations, though, as it's mostly stuff that isn't in either of those. It's sort of his definitive live performance, I think.

I laughed at the Ke$ha bit. You've got good style and delivery, need some better material though. Unless you're striving to be Tosh-lite. Which I hope you don't take as an insult, I like Tosh.

Strong work man. Telling jokes on a stage is a scary thing, something I don't think I'd do.

The crowd ate it up though, so it was a success. Only advice is to work on the transitions and posture.

Really wish that cameraman would stick to the medium shot though. Nothing you could do about that.

I was catering to high school kids. I know pandering is a big no-no, but I had to do it. As you could see, any time where there wasn't uproarious laughter was when I was saying something that wasn't completely obvious.

One thing I noticed was that I kept saying "that's right"...a total nervous tick that I never knew I had until I watched the tape the next day. I don't remember saying that ONCE while up there, so...good to know.

Most of it went over my head due to the pandering, but the Benjamin Button and Kesha jokes were hilarious. Good work, man.

Anyone see Norm Macdonald's new stand up special? Pretty good stuff. Lags a little towards the end, but he finishes strong. It's great to see him doing new material.

Also saw Patrice O'Neal's Elephant in the Room, but it was pretty mediocre. Started good, but I lost interest in it partway through.

Netflix Instant has the Craig Ferguson stand-up routine Does This Need to be Said? It started slow but I'm about halfway through and it's really funny.

Also, he agrees with me that the past tense of "shit" is "shat." Good man.

Noticed this hit instant and wasn't sure if it's worth it. I've liked most of Ferguson's monologues that I've caught, but never seen his stand-up. I'll give it a whirl. And I'm with both of you on shit/shat.

The Comedians of Comedy w/Maria Bramford, Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt is also on instant now. Only caught Bramford and Posehn's sets so far, but both were great and had mostly different material than I'd heard from when they've toured together other times.
